Basically, these are the accusations leveled against Isekai:
gamerant.com
7. It Relies Too Much On Stereotypes
6. The Harem Issue Is Getting Out Of Control
5. The Demon Lord/King Conundrum
4. Excessive Use Of CGI And Even AI
3. The Level Of Fan Service Is Over 9000
2. It Relies Too Much On Cliché Tropes
1. Excess Of Visual Impact
Basically, instead of creating a satisfying world, they pull overworked Japanese, who are probably a stand-in for artists forced to make this crap and give them a wish-fulfillment fantasy. They give them a harem, where there is no satisfying romance element but instead a bunch of half-developed bimbos who all LOOOOVE the hero so much that they don't fight and instead unrealistically all hang out with the hero. There is a demon king because the story needs a protagonist, but he has almost no development, and it wouldn't matter if he did. The idea is so cut and paste, that the studio might even fire the creative team and just get ChatGPT to draw the anime. The "genre" is essentially junk food, geared toward giving "fans" cliches they want, without bothering to ask what sort of fans these are. Like, should we really be catering to the sort of scumbags that think slavery and polygamy is okay?
Yeah, yeah, I know. "Whoa, harsh! Quit being so close-minded! It's okay if I like it." No. It's bad, and it's time you finally feel bad about finding the enslavement of women and beastkin socially admirable. Just as guro isn't a "niche" but a sign of possible psychopathy.
With that said, I wonder if someone here can draft a better story that is an isekai?

1. He is an already developed character, making this more of a fanwork of the character than complete from scratch isekai xerox with no personality.
2. As such, we can lay ground rules:
a. No cheats. He already has established powers.
b. No harem. Zoro has rather specific views on love which make him other monogamous or straight up without a romantic interest.
c. No RPG elements like status screen or levels or inventory. Zoro carries only his swords, gains power by lifting crazy amounts of weights, and doesn't even understand numbers (he's an idiot, more or less).
3. Whatever setting Zoro is tossed into, as we saw from Kumo blasting him somewhere, Zoro is Zoro. The elements of the Demon Lord, social disorder, whether it's a pirate world or a future setting like Vegapunk, Zoro changes the least of One Piece characters.
4. The point of an isekai should not be being overpowered (I watched an isekai last night where the god basically wrote cheats on a piece of paper, and before ten minutes were done, I stopped watching) but rather to have a disadvantage in combat. Zoro frequently fights wounded or outmatched in some way. It's all about the battles.
So ummm, make a Zoro fanfic isekai concept that I would actually want to read.

And then I thought about it, and I decided, "This might actually be better than some of the crap that is churned out." Why? Well...Sooner or later, Zoro is going to get lost and end up transported to another world, I swear to God.
