Freudian psychology sounds interesting tho
It's not great, mostly anecdotal evidence for... odd theories. Psychodynamics (which I was referring to) is pretty good though.
But there was also (this is
not something considered valid.
DO NOT TAKE IT AS SUCH) Freud's psychosexual development theory.
Of which consists five stages of (personality) development as a child ages through puberty.
These stages all are meant to reflect stages of (layman's term) conflict. They all are associated with specific erogenous zones and depending on resolution of conflict impacts their personality (especially while under stress)
Age 0-2
Oral
Associated with breast/bottlefeeding.
If they struggle to wean, it leads to excessive drinking and yelling.
Age 2-3
Anal
Toilet training.
If they don't learn to use a toilet.
Leads to inability to behave appropriately, where they do inappropriate acts in public. That or they are neat and tidy to a fault.
Age 3-6
Phallic (Oedipal complex/Electra complex)
Complicated one to simplify, but the most entertaining. This refers to a stage where children identify as the parent with the same gender as them to learn behavioural patterns fitting such.
Which leads into Oedipal complex where the male child (Electra for the female version, though that wasn't originally from Freud, but I digress) falls in love with their mother due to copying their father. Yet they eventually figure that they don't stand a chance in wooing their mother because of the father being so (not physically, but I don't know how else to say it) powerful.
Leads to an inability to act with people in society that are in positions of power. Like being rude to bosses or government officials. Also can result in them feeling powerless.
Age 6-11
Latency
Not actually sexual! (In other words, he couldn't make up another sexual parallel) refers to behaviour with peers of the same gender.
If they don't have friends of the same gender or fail to express their gendered behaviour it leads to bigotry and forming bonds and connections with other bigots due to their fear of rejection. Also attitude issues and or over sharing with boundary issues.
Age 11-beyond
Genital
Establishment of relationships with those of other genders.
Failing here leads to inability to form loving relationships, loneliness, and isolation due to failed intimate relationships (caused due to selfishness)
Again. These are not, and should never be, taken as accurate. Freud was very, very wrong here... but having a theory all about sex is fun?
You wanted interesting Freud (mind you, in the simplest form I could write it. It's deeper than just this... but still wrong.)
