this is asked often, and it always boils down to the same basic rules: upload consistently (whatever your schedule, make sure you stick to it), engage with readers that engage with you (comment back being the biggest, and thanking reviewers when you're able to, as reviews are rare), and finally, keep your chapters in the general ballpark of the same length.
People should know that 1, you appreciate them reading and commenting. 2, when you'll upload, and 3, how long your upload will be approximately, so that they can plan a time to read it. My personal rule for the third is "the time it takes for a standard poop". I want my chapters to be long enough that they can sit, do their business, and be done when they're done reading. any longer, you run the risk of losing interest mid chapter, any shorter, and they could drop due to lack of development per chapter (in my experience, so take that with a grain of salt).
