My opinion is that generic fantasy and litrpg slop is quite popular there, it is hard to find stuff not in that genre. Otherwise it is a fairly good site with a lot of readers. SH is better in pretty much every other way imo, but that is beside the point.

A bigger user base = more idiots. You need a thick skin to get somewhere and wade through the usual snobbish comments that you will get there after starting to post. There are a lot of self-appointed “critics” and “literature connoisseurs” there.

I got my first comment there so I don't mind it, but I like scribble hub's forums more. I dunno they seem more inviting and remind me a lot of an old WiiU forum I used to hang out in back in the day. Just very chill vibes.

I tried reading a thing or two on that site, but every story I started became boring/annoying/predictable. The site itself is alright, I guess? Can't say the same about most users.

Readers out there are nice. They are often willing to point out grammar mistakes, offer encouragement, and the like, despite the fact that I am a horrendous writer. I have never had a bad interaction with any of them. The authors are also mostly great (they taught me how to do shoutouts and review swaps properly and gave valuable pointers about grammar, in addition to being very supportive), but I have had several bad encounters.

Two (I did 90 review swaps) had refused to honor the review swap deal (after I had completed mine) and one called me a bigot. I asked the readers, but they told me they had no idea why I would be a bigot (I portray various flawed societies that slowly get better over the course of the novels. I'm not sure that's the right or tasteful way to do it, but if everything is perfect from the beginning, what's the point of a story? How do you even start a story in such a setting and why?)

Then again, such cases are rare, and most of my works are steaming piles of garbage, so I may be a unique case here, thus I don't hold any hard feelings toward the authors. Just another learning experience.
