A website full of the readers connected to the moderation, who think they know better about storytelling while they just read and write same type of the story again and again lol. Ordinary readers are fine, they're just an ordinary readers like you and me, but those entitled people, man, they're redditor levels of insufferable.

I treat them like China. Higher-ups are insufferable, ordinary people are fine.

Liked it, found the people there a little unhinged, but it gave me laughs so, all good there.

Saw some good early success, but they denied two of my stories for potentially having too much smut when there wasn't any through the whole book, so I ended up finding SH and came here.

I don't like navigating it and prefer scribblehub in about every way. But it also has some stories that are worth reading even on a different site.
This is basicly my thought as well, Ive been with RR since its LMS translation days but ive made a grand total of 1 post on their forum :blobrofl:

Don't care for mods there. Something that annoys me personally is no GL tags or even Yuri. I don't use the site to search for stories for that reason. Unless a story got recommended to me from there, I won't know about it.

This so badly, I can only thank the heroes in the forum making a thread that connects a lot of the Yuri novels in RR.

The owners and community. I’m not sure which is more homophobic. There were several threads, where people did want to at least have the tag.

This way those content can be filtered out or in, but the mods there argued that people would use that to target stories.

When in reality, people on there do so either way. There was a whole explosive argument.

1. The side that was in favor of the tags for.

—> Discoverability.

—> To filter out the tags, which reasonably would be used more often.

2. The side that tried to defend the mods/owners.

—>They’d argue against LGBTQ stuff, be hateful. Saying the mods can do so. When in truth, the mods can, but it didn’t reflect good.

3. The mods.

—> The mods would twist themselves into a knot trying to come up with any argument against it, when it all fell flat reasonably.

————————

This happened several times, and really painted a clear picture on how the community is, and where the mods/owners stand.

It wasn’t about being sensible, it was pretty much bigotry.

—> For instance, an argument was too many tags. Saying they’d have to add every tag.

When in reality.

People at the base just asked for.

—> LGBTQIA+.

That or a simple.

—> BL/GL.

Nothing more. Eventually, the mods backed off and laid low.

I don’t remember all of it, but it was pretty heated.

There is no good argument. If they don't want LGBT stuff that's fine. I'd rather them just say it openly than make dumb arguments that fall flat when hit by the reality. Reality is that the tags would be better for people that love and hate things like GL. People that hate it can filter it out. People that love it can use it to find the tag. If the argument is that those stories will get hate, that doesn't work as you said people do it anyway. Personally, I think it's all about homophobia and money.

The company is homophobic, but some GL stories there do make them money and bring traffic. They don't want to promote it by having a tag, but they also won't take a stance against it because it brings them money.

Yeah, they kept making up stuff. Though, everyone knows they don’t want the tag on there. It would honestly be easier to just say it, rather than beating the same bush every now and then.

And I think you’re right. It is likely about those two things.

They don't want the tag because it would reveal how unfair and broken their algorithm is.

If they banned the LGBT content, there would be scandal and Amazon would pull out the plug, and the site would go bankrupt.

If they let the tag in, it would reveal how many bots there is, and how much algorithm screws with visibility, which means more work reworking it, less revenue from ads because of the sheer number of bots, and the big names leaving as the site wouldn't be able to assure they top the lists.

So, doing nothing is the best they could do.
