Mashing enter after every single sentence. It's really annoying to read, eyes start to wander and readers (or at least I) quickly lose focus and the story stops being interesting.
It's like making a sandwich, but you go to the shop for one ingredient - bread - place it on the plate, go to the shop again for another ingredient, and then repeat it over and over until you have your dinner done. Not nice

Yep, I read that comment. You can't and you won't make everyone happy, but... Just grab any "story" book you have in the house and see how formatting is done. More often than not there are no empty spaces at all, but that's done to conserve the space. Here you aren't restrained by the size of the pages, so you can expand a bit.

Here is a fragment of the novel I'm writing. It combines the book layout with the freedom of space that online publishing grants. Also, that's the style I prefer the most so don't feel pressed to adapt it

I believe that a handful of people with grudges against specific tags or genre exist. Some of them may periodically go through the whole list of stories with said tags and one star all of them, hoping against reality that it will convince anyone to read/write their own specific interest instead. Don't worry too much about it, readers are generally savvy enough to disregard one stars with no accompanying review.

The only difference - they did so on paper, not online. But that's logical
