Honestly, I favor the idea that Fuyu Machi sits atop a nuclear bomb that will explode and destroy the entire world if the Oni succeed in invading Fuyu Machi. Therefore, Scribel needs to help or else we all die!

How can we, IC-wise, verify the truth? And, if that thing within Fuyu is so powerful, then why no one, except for Oni, wanted a hand in it? After all, we have a lot of power-hungry forces.

I think Fuyu wanted us more, but we are too greedy for their liking.

It's been... extremely confusing... because the players OOC seem to want it...

Yet none of the IC factions seem to want it.

Like GM/Cassel both seem reluctant/unimpressed by what Fuyu has to offer.

Shogun/Miko also seem unwilling, and in fact the quest reports read like Vicious is attempting to convince the unwilling Shogun to ally with Scribel.

So it's a total impasse because none of the factions seem to want the union badly enough to take a slight loss. In fact, as far as I can tell, Fuyu never formally asked Scribel City for "help" either... which makes it an odd situation. Why should Scribel offer to send aid when Fuyu never sent a letter saying "please help us?"

IC-wise,

IC wise, I think we can open it by adding an impeding threat to Fuyu, next putting a quest up sponsored by the whoever is in control charge of Fuyu that Adventurer is to secure the agreement with Scibel.

Its in reverse but Booomm its done!

Why not just get the Slime Horde over with, so that AG would have fewer things to worry about, and can finally begin to negotiate with Fuyu, officially?

But if all fell down, Merchant Guild is there to get the fallen apple, ya know?

If the Merchant's Guild sees the oppurtunity with Fuyu, will they try and sabotage the deal between AG and Fuyu? So they can get the deals themselves.

That said, I've always somewhat believed that the merchant guild has a collaborative relationship with the adventurer's guild, because it's useless to send merchant traders through an oni warzone without protection. The Adventurer's Guild provides that protection on a regular basis, since well... the Adventurer's Guild is the one that is specialized in conventional fighting.

What if the slime hoard eats most of the farmlands, causing us to need food so we can get food from Fuyu Machi via exterminating oni?

The problem is that Fuyu lacked something unique for AG to bear the loss and helped them. We knew that Oni wanted to destroy Fuyu, but we don't know anything about why, or what benefits they would get. They also seemed to have no goodies that could entice AG enough, not with the current offer.

If Fuyu had something unique to them, I'm sure AG would be more than glad to establish a branch there, because if not Merchant Guild would do it. Monopoly is a great thing for us evil capitalism.
