What if the Slime Hoard was caused by the Oni chasing them out from Fuyu?
Until the Oni gets resolved, Scribel will be flooded with slimes, A pest that effects all businesses!
They come from completely opposite directions, though...don't they?

Talking about slime horde, the 25th already came by, so... If we go by RL time, they are already at our doorstep~

Any ideas on how to handle them? It's 1:30am rn, so I'm in no condition to think of something... I'd just write something in Freestyle about how I saw the incoming horde and we had to fight now or never and then try to start a raid or something... But that's just me~

Let's put it this way.

Oni attack City A because City A is nearer. City A calls for aid from City B. City B doesn't help, so City A mounts a defence-oriented strategy. Oni gets bored of attacking a turtle in it's shell.

Oni looks over to City B, which is slightly further and new, so they attack that one. Then they leave after rampaging through the city and go back to attacking the turtle A.

City B attempts to mount a defence against Oni. Oni run fast and pack lots of brute strength, so walls don't hinder them much. Both cities do their best to defend, but the oni, free from the dangers of being counterattacked, amass and chip away at both, eventually getting strong enough to overwhelm both independently.
Mhm, I see what you're saying! Personally, I'm a total 100% interventionist (OOC), but these kinds of arguments are often difficult to sell to people. In many situations, people worry about themselves first and don't bother to think about the future (e.g. what if the oni overwhelm Fuyu Machi and then turn to Scribel City later?).

In fact, the prevailing opinion about the Halfwing Federation getting invaded by the Holy Human Empire was that the guild shouldn't intervene.

Therefore, to me, it does seem to me that the current guild (IC) has a number of significant non-interventionist voices.

It's an improvement...!

Although, tbh the Slime Horde doesn't seem to be that scary. Most people seem to be hardly bothered by it at all, and even among players there wasn't a whole lot of interest in resolving/dealing with the slime horde. :blob_happy: :blob_happy: :blob_happy:

Liana has never left the city and has no real combat experience, so it felt OOC for her to do anything about it.

Ah, a random idea that came to me about Fuyu Machi~

They could use their religion as a way to make a deal with the guild.

Like... The Water Spirit can be an incredible informant due to knowing everything connected to its river, and their priests seems a lot closer to the people than the ones at Scribel are. It shouldn't be hard for the people at Fuyu Machi and visiting adventurers to vouch for the powers of the Fuyu gods.

A deal that involves spreading their divine protection to Scribel might hold some weight. Even if the people from Fuyu are just saying stuff they are actually unable to do, it could serve as a starting point.

... Just something that the sleep deprived me just thought of... Food for thought I guess?

Does Scribel need such protection? It's already pretty well guarded, it hasn't really been attacked yet

What if the Oni kidnapped the GM who is on vacation
I mean again... @Bochi's OOC objective is for the guild to set up a branch in Fuyu Machi.

To use a history analogy:
  • Oni = Nazi Germany
  • Scribel = Western Europe
  • Fuyu Machi = Russia
If the Oni attack both Western Europe and Russia (or if they kidnap the prime minister of UK), why should the UK send an amphibious battalion to build a military base in Mother Russia when the Oni are already bombing the UK?

Isn't the more obvious solution for... both Scribel and Fuyu Machi to attack the Oni Mountain at the same time....?????

I dunno, but we don't have a hulk, so armies will always scare us though.

I support this! Any kind of extension on the deal that is more favorable to Scribel may make things work!

Honestly, I favor the idea that Fuyu Machi sits atop a nuclear bomb that will explode and destroy the entire world if the Oni succeed in invading Fuyu Machi. Therefore, Scribel needs to help or else we all die! :blob_happy: :blob_happy: :blob_happy: :blob_happy: :blob_happy:
