Sequel to fanfic thread. All fanfics are trash.

I don't fight when I know I can't win.

Star wars sequel fanfics are better than the official star wars sequel fanfic.
Heck, "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" by Allen Dean Foster was a "fanfic" written as a sequel to Star Wars that would have made more sense than the sequels Lucas put together... Probably not been as good a movie as Empire Strikes Back, but would have made more logical sense.

I think it's true for a majority of fanfic, especially when they don't keep close to the source material. However, I think fanfics can be done well enough that they pay homage to the source material and make an interesting story. Now the question that everybody should ask themself is: Has there ever been a book story, movie, or series that you think deserves fanfics but has never had one?
You know, you're doing what you're ranting about with your comment here.

I mean, look, you're copying your own comment.

The fanfic writers from 10 years ago grew up and couldn't cut it being real writers, so they became video game writers instead. This is why all video games are written like ass. Hence fanfics are killing gaming.
Quite a claim

@SailusGebel (and other people I guess) what's your take on fanfic authors who don't tag their work as a fanfic.

I met one of those jerks, he or she made a smut story based the legends of king arthur. The thing is, we, the readers, were never warned that it stole 99% of its world. I went in thinking it was an original work.

I will curse them. They will stub their pinky in a few days.
