Yes. As I personally liked "Tom Brown's School Days", our tastes must differ, however. Of course, the Flashman Papers are an entirely different species of literature. The protagonist would not be out of place in a modern-day web serial.

It wasn't BAD, just bland slice of life stuff with a few cool bits (oddly very few of the cool parts involved Flashman - he was almost a speed bump). But then, I had also read a lot of similar stuff so maybe was a bit jaded going in.
