I thought Santa Clause was Santa Claws, so I was terrified of him, till I learned how to spell in first grade elementary.

I believed for a long time but then my mom actually managed to get people to play along for evidence on the phone being Santa supporters. Around 11

ten or eleven, much to parent's chagrin
to be fair, they were a lot better at keeping up the illusion for younger siblings which lead to there being no reason to disbelieve in the chimney traveler.

Don't remember exaxtly, but pretty young actually. I think it was when I discovered the tooth fairy wasn’t real. It's probably because I'm here in Asia so the idea of Santa isn't really reinforced
Lol if you're in asia i can see why.

This seems like a creepy nextdoor uncle luring kids with candies.

This is funny?.

The chimney always got me how it could make the Santa get in and out.
But he is real
Lol..maybe the pope is the Santa.

I was always aware that Santa is more a concept than a being. The spirit of giving, and of family, with the power of Tradition at his back. Not sure if this was something I just "knew" or if it was something I was told. Did not even matter if it was "really" my parents, it always was and was not Santa as well.

Though if I did believe it on some level other than conceptual, it was shifted to the purely conceptual model (not that I would have known what half those words mean then) when I found out one of my best friends at the time was Jewish and practiced a different set of rituals than ... well, anyone else in our school did at that time, really, about 6 or 7 years old.

Never believed, family doesn't do the whole Santa suite, gifts, yes. My mom felt giving gifts amongst ourselves was more meaningful and would breed independence. She believes that believing in Santa leaves you open to expecting a greater power to help you, and her words "he's already died for you, and you're just a number to the government"

? What do you mean, Santa isn't real?

???

?Santa tell me?. Santa's definitely real, since I get my wish of 20 guys asking me out on a chess site each day- long story. But, uh, no, I don't date them. Nope, I just have to have a huge crush on a guy in real life who happens to be waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy out of my league.
