1)Dense Protagonist: Imagine a lady kissing you and showing you constant affection but you are a piece of woodblock shit, this slows the story down and i feel like beating the shit out of author (no pun intended)
2) System:Yeah the brain lot of copycats and unimaginative, some are good but nowadays it oversaturated with shits.
3)Self indulgent protagonists:Show no empathy or emotion, think they are always right and whatnot,if your mc is evil commit to them being evil... don't make them the good guys while they commit atrocities.

This may be a personal tangent but one cliche I really dislike is futa x gender bender, I feel like it defeats the purpose of making the mc a different gender, especially if it doesn’t change they way they act. Like yeah, he was turned into a woman but his attraction to women hasn’t changed and now he has his thing back so really the only thing that changed was the mic grew breast

Dense protagonists are awful, makes me want to fill my head with cement. How is anyone even close to being that dumb half the time

Anything with gender bender is a no go zone for me,i don't hate it but i prefer my sanity in check.

?? That's why i don't read most of jp novels, it's too unrealistic for someone to be dense even animals aren't this way...you can be naive but not dense.

I can’t find a gender bender that shows true pain, so now I’ve decided to write one, I’m not interested in the sexual or social aspects here, I’m interested in the psychological aspects. Like surely your brain isn’t functioning the same as it would normally, right? I’m also interested in seeing how much I can put the mc through until readers lose hope on the story getting better. I swear I’m not some tragedy crazed author though.

You can't handle the pain.

I hate systems, pervert MCs, and stories that have no progress, thousands of chapters later.

I also hate virtue-signalling and fans who see themselves as paragons of virtue simply because they admit they're hypocrites, which is outside the question of this thread but is related.
Pervets mc are what made me abandon harem stories....i could not go into any reading without a pervert mc dick riding everything even though there are many good harems.
Especially korean ones....they are basically solo leveling copycats.

Harems.
By that I mean:
Ever expanding harems.
I don't read harems but i can accept atleast 2 or 3 ladies in it...i can follow what is happening...more than that is endless drama, remind me of a CN novel where mc had trillion harem ladies ?.

The ever so positive loyal lackey that they somehow get after a beatdown/humiliation/showcase of strength, whatever method of dominating them, them so they have a change of heart.
Then they'll suddenly be used a driving force for the mc to be "Awakened" because they either get injured, grievously injured, kidnapped, or even die.

What.

In general, I don't like it when the harem keeps growing.
Like if there is a set number then that makes sense, but when there are more than 5, there are usually problems.

Didn't you already ask this question? My answers are mostly the same, I guess.

Pain = Progress, Jealousy, Murderhoboing, and bards. No thanks.

Adding to those, I noticed I'm less tolerant of 'Character Development'. It feels really superficial. I've seen this exact same struggle play out a thousand times, can't you just skip to the part where you suddenly forget all your flaws and become generic hero already? Then the story can really start- and it's over... Wtf...

Hm... So adding to that, is the characters who have the power to reshape the world for the better, but then just... don't. So the 'missing hero' trope, and things like it.

Oh, also, 'Immortality is a curse' is a shitty trope. Losing the people you love is bad, so just make them immortal too, you

- MC save female from death/humiliation/bad situation only to be bitch slapped because she is embarrassed abut the state of her cloths.
+ many more

What.
This has reminded me the fat lackey in most CNs novels.

I used to hate Stockholm Syndrome Shoujo Stories, example: MC is married to some cold-blooded Asian CEO, then they divorce but the story forces them to be together again with the dude being all sorry and all that shit. Another one is where MC regress and is supposed to change everything, but they still end up with the dude that caused their death in their first life... I guess some of you are familiar with these stories.

I thought it was just shitty writing at first, or just intentionally adding pointless drama (MC gets kidnapped 3 times within 75 chapters, twice by the same culprit) to further the word count. It wasn't until I was told that this was an actual genre and that's how it was supposed to be.
Reminds me of telenovelas and Makjang drama tbh.

Anyway, I know what genre to avoid now if I don't want a stroke.

Lol you clearly don't like bards since i have seen a couple of your comments with bard.

One thing i hate in this kind of situation is the reoccurring mob character that will not die or something.

Manhau in general. I don’t think I’ve ever read a manhau I liked. That one kingdom building one was decent until they shoe horned in all the commie garbage.

Any novel with the cold ceo type either being a guy or woman is a no go zone for me....ads also those mercenary king mcs cliche too.
