Progression stories where people need to choose between the fast/easy way to progress and the correct way. Like, bruh, is any MC going to choose to sacrifice potential for short term gains? No, because the choice is bullshit. Unless a character is neither the MC nor the MC's wise mentor, in which case they cultivate the obviously wrong way and make fun of the MC until they get their face slapped.
