Imma see if wuwa works on linux. If not, oh well.
Launcher works, installs the game fine, but the game itself doesn't launch.
Wasn't really hoping to play it anyways, I have too many other games I still need to finish (like my second playthrough of nier:automata).

So far, this game succeeded at keeping my attention longer than Genshin, which I could count as a win :blob_hmm: No bugs, no stuttering, runs smoothly, CN VA are great, the combat feels fun. The only issue for now is the story doing the typical Chinese thing of info dumping hard :blob_neutral:
So far I'm not impressed... The infodumping is worse than Honkai Impact Chapter 35. We're introduced to a bunch of terms and I count like... 7 significant characters(Excluding the MC, we have Yangyang, Chixia, Baizhi, Mortefi, the magistrate, her bodyguard, and that ??? girl) introduced in the first hour of the game? Also it might just be because of the cutscenes constantly being cut off for me, but the plot feels like it's everywhere. The CBT 1 plot seemed more interesting to me with Chixia being extremely wary of the MC after they absorbed Crownless.

For me there's a ton of bugs and visual issues, one time I straight up thought the city had a ton of fog. It turns out the textures just weren't loading until I restarted the game.

Finally, it's just a pet peeve of mine. But the open world looks copy pasted from Liyue. I really wish Kurogames stuck to the gritty sci fi vibe they had in PGR instead of copying Genshin.

Well, I like the combat and find the echos thing pretty cool, so I'll give it a chance. I'll just continue playing tomorrow when it's easier to reroll and hopefully it's less laggy for me.

Edit: Oh, apparently there's localisation issues, but I was too frustrated at the lag to notice except one instance of 'are' when it should be 'is'

I'm seeing a lot of people talking about bugs and glitches and I'm wondering if my PC is lucky or haven't run into them yet.

Regarding the story, I won't even bother trying to understand what's going on. I have yet to play a gacha game where the writing is at least good. I agree with all of the issues here. Combat and gameplay feels fun so I'll probably stick around as a true f2p, playing occasionally while waiting for more content for other games.

I haven't noticed localization issues either, maybe because I stopped paying attention

There are others who also don't experience technical issues, but those who do seem to be in the majority. It seems it's a skill issue of the devs this time.

Not even Arknights? :blob_frown: I heard it was pretty good. Anyways, yeah, I just find it disappointing since I've played PGR and was interested enough to actually read the stories of the individual characters. In CBT1, Crownless absolutely obliterates your entire team before you have to 1v1 him, and after the fight Chixia straight up points a gun at you asking 'What are you?'. I personally found that more fun than what we have now.

It feels like they're trying too hard to be "friendly for all ages"

I'll play it more regularly if they optimize things, but if they don't I'll probably quite since it's not worth sitting through the lag

Yeah, apparently it's way worse in other languages.

Sounds about right. UE4 is a good engine, but can be annoying to optimize. When it's properly done though it works like a charm.

> Arknights
> Good story

Out of the gacha I got to try, nobody is worse than Arknights writers. Incompetent bunch of idiots with inflated ego. There was a potential in the story, it could've been really interesting, but they were too incompetent to make something out of it.

Their best attempt was Under Tides and this event was probably the best written event they made. After that, their definition of a "good writing" is just shitting out as high wordcount as possible (look at this shit). And best part? 98% of the nonsense, buzzword meaningless monologues could be cut without any loss to the content. Oh, and I'm pretty sure most of EN translation is done by a fucking google translate.

Unreadable steaming pile of hot garbage.

I'll admit here and now that all I know about this game is it's title and that it's gacha :blob_neutral: From the sound of it the earlier version does sound more interesting. Targeting younger people in this games always confuses me. It's not like a high-schooler has money to whale hundreds in gacha. Why trying to appeal to them? Aside from how morally bankrupt it is in the first place :blob_neutral:

Add me if you'll stick to Europe server :blob_hide:
Yeah, apparently it's way worse in other languages.
I've seen people complaining about French and Spanish, yeah. I mean what they usually do with localization is have someone (cheap) localize to EN first and then the other languages are pretty much MTL :blob_neutral: I don't know if I should be laughing or crying that I'm playing with EN subs...

The game runs fine indoors but it's super slow once I'm in the open world. It might be trying to load the entire map at once or something....

Oh wow... there's a lot of Arknights players in the Limbus community and I often see people comparing it and praising it, particularly the worldbuilding. I suppose being a good worldbuilder makes not a good writer.

Though I've definitely seen the 15 minutes gameplay for a 2 minute stage meme. Didn't know it was THAT bad. Thankfully I quite Arknights after chapter 4.

That's almost enough to reach the ideal :blob_dizzy:

(Actually, considering a word can be composed of multiple syllable blocks, it's probably way more)

Roblox's front page is full of 'RNG games' where the gameplay is literally just gacha and nothing else. That has proven that highschoolers are most likely to fall prey to these gacha schemes.

Sometime in 2022 when everyone was crazy about Genshin, a lot of my cousin's classmates use their allowance to buy battlepass or at the very least that daily reward thing. Heck, she even gave me money so I can make a purchase for her through my debit card. It definitely works if you have a huge audience with "generous rates".
Add me if you'll stick to Europe server :blob_hide:
I may or may not have bricked my Europe server account by pulling on standard instead of the beginner banner. :blobrofl:I did make another one though, pray it gets Encore in the rerolls.

Or failure with foliage optimization :blob_hmm: Either way they should be able to fix it soon

I mean, Arknights world is an interesting idea. The problem is with execution.

The writers can't write concisely for shit. They will take one thing and then keep repeating it in 5 different ways. Then, there's also issue with how profound they are trying to sound while using terminology and concepts they have no idea about. The moment you are familiar with them, even a bit, you'll start seeing what kind of nonsense they are talking about. It's the case of "if I make it convoluted and impossible to understand, people will think I'm so smart".

There are tons of memes about Kal'tsit monologuing everyone to death for a reason :blob_neutral: You quit at a good moment. The main story takes a nosedive from there even more than Amiya angst arc.

I mean, I get it. Young people are easier to manipulate and stuff, but from doing research for an article it seemed that the biggest money bags were still adults. Kids are gonna spend their pocket change, but an adult is going to whale their entire salary to get their waifu. That is ofc without counting the situations where the parent had their credit card connected to the service and the kid cleaned the account.

Or maybe they are hoping that if they get the kids hooked while they're still in school, then they will be more inclined to spend as adults.

I still haven't gotten any 5* yet, but I may be too lazy to reroll this game, so I'll go with whatever shows up. I'm more invested in HSR right now anyways :blob_evil:

Hopefully... I don't want to have to fight Crownless at 1fps every time I reroll

Ah, so they fell into the same pit as Honkai Impact. For your sake I hope HSR doesn't start bombarding us with pseudoscience and philosophical bullshittery.

And here I thought Kal'tsit would be the serious one who keeps things concise lol

It's one of the best pieces of fiction I've ever experienced. Word count rarely matters as long as the whole thing is one coherent plot (which is harder the more words you put down) If anything, they did the opposite in Canto 4, too many stages without story.

Arknights devs may have wanted to make a visual novel instead of a tower defense game.

Hmm, where did you get the numbers anyways? Most young people lie about their age when making accounts and stuff. Well anyways, doesn't matter. I probs looked into it too much and they're just copying Hoyoverse since their marketing strategy made them enormous amounts of money.
Or maybe they are hoping that if they get the kids hooked while they're still in school, then they will be more inclined to spend as adults.
They're gonna need the longevity of F/GO if they're banking on that :blobrofl:

I'm playing Wuwa rn, and bro, the girls keep yapping.

I just decided to ignore the story and let it run in the background lmao

You probably did that already, but just for the sake of it, make sure you Chrome isn't running in the background and kill all the unnecessary tasks. Every scrap matters with limited RAM.

It seems to be a trend witch gacha. Maybe the writers are compensating something with this stuff? :blob_neutral:

I went to YT and looked for this prime example of how fabulous Arknights writing is.
1716495278587.png

Fucking peak writing. Lone Trail was where I quit, because this is middle school level writing. Characters narrating every single thing they are doing and then dumping some "profound" knowledge on you ? Even HSR "why does life slumber" thing wasn't as bad as an average scene in this game lol.
And here I thought Kal'tsit would be the serious one who keeps things concise lol
Old Well is the worst offender. She loves the sound of her voice :blob_blank:

If the writer is skilled then no matter how long the text is, it will be a pleasure to read.
Arknights devs may have wanted to make a visual novel instead of a tower defense game.
They made an anime and it's shit too, because they chose the worst and most boring part to put on the fucking screen. Also 8 episodes of nothing happens. Avoid.

Since I didn't get permission to conduct my own survey, I looked at posts on SM and forums and such, where people were sharing their stories in regards to spending in games. It was mostly in regards to microtransations in shit like Fifa and other western lootbox hell, though. I think there are also some yourubers that talked about it.

Maybe it's time to do another take on the matter with main focus on gacha :blob_hmm:
They're gonna need the longevity of F/GO if they're banking on that :blobrofl:
:blob_happy:
I mean, Genshin is already what? 4 years old? If someone started playing in HS then they are now hitting college and will probably get a job and have income. Genshin isn't dying any time soon and HSR is a thing too. Mihoyo will probably release more games too, so their audience already is seeing them as something familiar and trustworthy since they were growing up with it.

Corpos are playing the long game. For them raising and training their audience is in their best interest. Look at what's happening in US.
There's a selector after the beginner banner anyways, I'm just greedy and want two of the 5*s I want
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Good luck!
