So, have any of you started playing Infinity Nikki?
The gatcha is almost pure vanity/outfits. While the stats on the outfits can matter for Styling Contests, the rest of the gameplay is basically unaffected by which cool/pretty outfits you have for Nikki. Also, with enough work, you can clear every story-related styling contest with freely available outfits. So you can save up across banners where you don't care about the outfits presented and then go all-in when you do care.
Gameplay is BotW/TotK style jumping/platforming with a much simpler combat style: you can shoot things with magic blasts or power-stomp them with a small AoE, both modifiable with items you collect and craft in the open world.
My wife and I are fifty and enjoying the hell out of it. You just have to be able to approach the relatively simple story and lore with sincere appreciation; going in full of cynicism is a good way to kill enjoying the game. It's light, fluffy, and laid back, with occasional dark bits if you take in the implications of things that are skimmed over.
