What's even the setting of that novel? I just hope it's every genre.

My preferred genre is Horror Dramedy. It's clearly a horror played for laughs, then it keeps getting deadly serious when it comes to society. Like a grudge is stalking the school trying to get people to notice it, because it can only hurt people who see it. Then it sneaks into the room screaming and the cloud of tendrils and eyes snaps about to focus on the grudge. It freezes. The cloud raises a tendril, "Teacher. May I be excused to use the bathroom?" The grudge flees, The cloud rushes out. Horrific howling is heard outside in the hall. Strange flashing lights. Then the cloud comes back in, "Sorry. The parents had taco night."

Then the cloud keeps trying to make friends but is so horribly incompetent that everyone sort of blows him off, so he keeps sulking in the corner and we deal with teen-age self-esteem issues.

Horror Comedy-Drama.

Surprisingly kind especially to animals
