If there is any report that was not appraised, please poke me about it and I'll go over it, alright?

Please like this post if you endorse these prices!

If I get around 6-7 endorsements, these prices will be official!

(More shops coming later! Doing these first!)

Add a frowny face if you disagree about some prices, and we will discuss!
Just tossing my two cents. But, I'm more on the boat if it adds something to the game then add it. And, likewise the argument for increasing prices is quite solid. Adding realism, giving a goal for lower leveled players, and the research behind this makes it hard to argue.

But, for me this nerfs causal play and lowers variety of play styles. Of course this can be avoided by doing more quests or GMing your character's situation to a more favorable one. But, this raises the bar those who start more basic characters. Because from my point of view gold and prices are just tools. Players will use gold to RP and create situations for their characters to lose in.

But, this encourages to people make characters that have an build in scaling skill set already and discourages losses. (Regen, magic, increase power) It won't completely destroy that kind of player base because those who wish to play that kind will find a way. I'm just saying this might make things a little more difficult for them.

Granted I'm also on the boat that gold shouldn't be valued or used as an end game goal. And, that the 10 gold a day is already a fairly difficult restriction but, by the time I write this the prices should be final. I just wanted to get my complaints out before it happens.

It's a pretty valid complaint tbh~

It's just hard to find a good middle ground between making things easier for anyone that is playing more casually and making money feel meaningful for the more dedicated players.

Believe me, I tried in old AG! It's tough! >.<

So like... When I think of the prices, I usually end up thinking of the more dedicated players as those are the ones that play for longer... Which ends up making me agree with GM's price suggestions.

At least that's how I view it~

Yeah, it's fairly difficult to keep an causal player base and a dedicated one and keep an balance between the two. I view the causal players like new blood. They help keep things new and have a chance of joining the ranks of the dedicated.

But, giving advancement for old players is the difficult part. I still don't think gold is a good driving factor rather the upgrades and new tools brought with them. And, since it's an RP game it makes thing even more difficult. Why buy a sword worth 200 gold when you can puff one in mid air. Why learn from a tome when your character can find one that's perfectly suited for them.

It's less of a how thing for players than it is a why. I think that why is something I think we should be focusing more on.

Here's a new, messy drawing of Felicia in her current outfit/appearance. I can't seem to get the heightrestrict tags to work on this site so I apologize for the big image! I'm probably going to replace the drawing in her updated character sheet with this one ^^

@Bochi Damn it, Vicious left for Gelderholm before I could get Felicia to reply to her at all! xD

It's fine though, I'm sure they'll see each other again soon at Gelderholm :blob_aww:

These are all really fantastic comments and I don't really have that much to add. :blob_hug:

Since I'm a relatively action-oriented person, why don't I make a suggestion?

What if we got rid of the "daily cost of living is 10G" line on the registration page?

By getting rid of this line, the message I'd like to send is that characters should deduct money whenever they feel like it. If they want to play a hardcore game, they can deduct every "in character day" for living expenses. If they want to play a casual game, maybe they can just forget about living expenses entirely. If you want to play something in between, you can deduct every IRL day... it's totally up to you and how you want to tell your character's story.

I agree with @Silver that money is ultimately just a tool for the writers, and originally there was never even a market thread or in-game function for money. The market thread was added in part because @SpearOfLies pointed out it would be strange if characters collected giant piles of money and never used it. Nonetheless, my original philosophy in the very beginning was that players could just deduct/nerf their own money whenever they feel like it... although in practice, I think most people are too stingy to nerf their own money.:sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

In either case, I can definitely see both sides, and I'd like to make AG enjoyable and approachable for as many people as possible!

I mean personally I think the daily cost is fine on it's own. As it has clearly motivated a lot of other players to take it and play the game with it. Just make sure they know it's optional. :blob_okay:

It's more like a difficult meter in my view. People can take the casual route like me, play hardcore like Alice, or take the road in-between. Nonetheless it is a great addition to the game. I wouldn't have thought of it myself. Then again I'm not so creative.

Testing~

Let's see if it worked~

Edit: Failure...
@Feathers95, I did multiple tests after googling a variety of different methods. Nothing worked.

What probably happened is that in order for BB Code resizing to work, a custom CSS has to be added to the site's code in order to enable it. I believe Tony did not do that, and therefore you're unable to resize images in threads.

At least that's my theory.

Mmmmmmmmm, I like the registration having an easy pointer that gives people a basic notion of how much money is worth and stuff though... But I can totally see your point too! >.<
part of me... one part of me suggest, replace line with "check out the market place to get familiar with the value of 1 G."
This doesn't seem like a bad idea~

I'm not one of the most hardcore players though?! xD

I completed like, 4 quests or something? *whistles*

Look for Bochi and Feathers for actual hardcore people! xD
I wonder which category of player I fit into...
:blob_frown:

If I were to give my own opinion, you're part of the dedicated playerbase. You entered the game with a character that was well-thought (at least to some extent) and probably had some plans for her already from the very start.

You also came in with knowledge of the previous games and probably came to play the game for a long time and with regularity. That makes you part of the more dedicated players IMO~
