While reading the Harry Potter fanfic, I realized one thing: unlike the rest of the universe, in this universe time is represented as a leyline, like in Prisoner of Azkaban. This was clearly demonstrated. When the past changes, it affects the future (even though, in fact, everything has already happened in the future, and everything that happens leads to a confirmation of that future). This got me thinking.
It turns out that someone who controls time in a world where it's linear becomes the most powerful?
Simply put, if a character has the ability to influence time and travel back in time, does that make them invincible?
Let's say there is a time pendulum in the Harry Potter world (I don't know the exact limitations of its use, but it's not that important). Let's imagine that the hero takes this pendulum and convinces himself that he's traveling into the future to deliver something to himself, like a note.
Provided I haven't set an exact time for this event, would this count as direct foreshadowing? That is, I already have the intention of traveling to the past and handing myself a note. But I haven't specified when that will happen. If the note appears to me at the moment I think about it, then I will get the status of invulnerability. It will be in effect until my intention to go back in time and hand myself the note is fulfilled.
That's invulnerability?
