Interested, let me know when the guidelines are more ironed out. @TheDerpieGod
As you are the only one online right now, I must ask. Who would be a good moderator for this? Or someone I could ask.Oh... um...I see. Well...I'll wait for this event. Eager to try the challenge.
aye, im trying to be unique (I'm not like other girls ?)Definitely interesting all right. I just don't know about the challenging system.
the points you make are logical, i guess it depends on how one approaches this. personally i don't care about the competitive aspect of this, it just seems fun. maybe the winner isn't the best author or whatever, but that doesn't matter to me, perfection is delusion. the winner won cos folk enjoyed their entry/s and that's about all that matters. There is a problem with this concept.
Most of the actual best authors on this site don't usually even bother with the forums.
I would consider myself mid-tier so far as the authors on this site go, and mid-tier authors like me are about the best that are actually seen here in the forums.
Even at my level, which I have already said is no where near the best even this site has to offer, I don't really feel much reason to participate in something like this because I already have my hands full with managing all the things for my own story.
The main reason for stuff like this is to get a little bit of extra recognition to hopefully draw some attention to your work. It is good for things like that, but if you are already getting plenty of attention then it really doesn't have any actual draw.
So, yeah... high-tier authors wouldn't even realize this contest was a thing, and mid-tier authors don't have much of an interest in this sort of thing. What, then, does that leave?
(Also, there's a second problem here. This contest does not test for one's skills as an author. It only tests for one's skills as a writer. A person's skills as a writer measures only their ability to write. For an author, though, one's writing skills are only one item in a very wide tool-kit that also involves self-marketing, ability to read the market, and a little bit of luck and good timing. It is very hard to design an actual contest to measure those other skills. You can be an incredibly skilled writer, and yet fail hard as an author.)

Its alright. It all depends on who this writing challenge is targeted at. For starters, or people not so skilled, its nice something to motivate them.
Paul, I choose you.I wouldn't mind joining this competition. How long would each section be and how long would the competition last? What are the rules and what is used to measure who wins?
I see. What genre do you choose? Or is that predetermined?Paul, I choose you.
nah, I choose you to find me an event organizer :)I see. What genre do you choose? Or is that predetermined?
See there’s one huge flaw with your criticism. There is a problem with this concept.

Victories will be decided by who gets their contest entries reported the most often.I wouldn't mind joining this competition. How long would each section be and how long would the competition last? What are the rules and what is used to measure who wins?
Oh, I'm bad at that but I think I can work something out. I'll get back to you tomorrow after I can think about this and decide if I am capable of completing the task.nah, I choose you to find me an event organizer :)
