I mean op complained about Webnovel not this site nor other media for the matter. A LOT of media throughout the world still retains a strong sense of morals. Perhaps the problem could be the Webnovel site reader base, or more correctly a portion of it.
it's because web novels have very limited contact with Twitter, Facebook, Angry Parents, and Social Criticism, and so they have a lot more freedom to be abused.

On the other hand, published works, Tv series, movies, and even anime and light novels can't have that same freedom.

Oh, by the way, that was for novel in general, but for the site, well..... there is nothing to call it more than a dump, where novels of all types and qualities are thrown for groups of starved brainless beasts to feast on. so you can't really expect moral there.

Nah, Lloyd isn't a horseman. He is a troll, and the only ones who accidentally feed him are noobs. As for who are the other three horsemen? My take they are Ben, K5, and of course, Cupcake.
I see llyod on a lot of closed threads, which makes me consider him a horseman. A horseman doesn't have to be the sole cause but must herald a closing frequently.
I love how Blade is like the only universally agreed upon Horseman :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
This isn't even my first time hearing this.
I don't even dislike Blade whatsoever, actually agree with him sometimes. It's just hilarious how he consistently draws the ire of Tony.

He's been muted twice. Or whatever its called when he's made unable to post for like a certain period of time. He told me the first time was 24 hours and the second time was 48. I guess it goes an extra day each time, or maybe it'll jump to a week the third time. Idk. Sady, Blade won't be here to cause a ruckus. Was talking to him yesterday on discord and his work picked back up so he'll be gone for a bit. Sad too, this is a good thread for him to destroy XDD

I mean, Cupcake is a horseman of horny, Ben is a horseman of I don't know how to name this, jokes? Nonsense? I don't know. And K5 is a horseman of, well, breastfeeding? Also, she is a horseman of a word carefully when someone asks for advice and that black and white pic.

I don't dislike him either, but I don't understand why he keeps talking about bannable stuff. And more often than not, he is the one who starts talking about it. Even when nothing was mentioned, he gets triggered.
and alice will point out how this thread is in the wrong section.
And say that this feature is low on the priority list.

This whole thread seems like someone who just discovered people like to write fuck up things for fun. (something that has been going on since... forever). Either a child whose legally now adult able to access theses places and is shooked or an extremely sheltered adult.

People just like to write fucked up things for fun and live their lives in the real world normally.

nothing bigger than than that.

Back then there were fed up web novels and now there are f- up web novels.

I rather that than a nanny state and pearl clutchers. As long as they give warning on thier work so I can avoid topics I dislike, then I dont care.

Fundamentally, though, you have to remember that the overwhelming majority of web novels are power fantasies and wish fulfillment; morals are restraint, not wish fulfillment. The more popular something becomes, the more of the latter you'll find while trying to get the former.
To add to this, the barrier of entry for web novels is so low. Anyone with a computer and knows how to write can post a web novel (to a webnovel site). There is more of everything, and usually not of very high quality (because quality often means you can get published).
Well, getting back to the topic, I suppose much of EscLate's perception could be due to these two issues.
Also, I say this with all due respect and I hope it doesn't sound condescending, there is a big difference between fourteen and twenty-three years old: your preferences for things mature, you have more critical ways of looking at the world, etc. Although, well, I don't want to disrespect you by projecting things about myself onto you, EscLate.

Absolutely.

I know Blade is one, and I'm usually in agreement with him and his opinions most of the time, but not always. Like 85-90% But Lloyd? Kinda surprised he's considered one. Hell, if Lloyd is one, than I might as well cast myself as the 3rd one and put up flyers in search of the 4th.

I am a horseman, not a troll. I'm 100% serious. Maybe just a tad hyperbolic. I am the harbinger of death.

There's a clear distinction between evaporating morals in general and the fall of "morals I personally agree with" and I'm pushed to believe that the OP is miffed about the latter. That, or it's the "they don't build them like they used to" effect misattributed to declining morals. If you loved Dragonball or Naruto as a kid, watch it again now, and be disappointed in what feelings you get from them compared to how amazing they were to you when you were smol.

But that's an easy answer, and it ignores some very real changes in the face of modern fiction.

I'd say that these changes aren't a result of declining moral standards at all, but an expansion of the moral standards that are being displayed. It's easier than ever to produce a webnovel and we've burned the majority of our gatekeepers at the stake. This means that (just about) any person from every political alignment and worldview can post on places like SH and the art's only getting more and more popular. It's much more likely that an argument that says "this field is devolving into degeneracy" is really saying "this piece of art pushes an idea/contains content I'm uncomfortable with and I don't think it should exist" the latter of which is a valid feeling whether it's right or wrong because it doesn't hide behind some kind of social authority, but if people were to say that, they'd have to present their own personal beliefs in the open without protection from said social authority, and not everyone is ready to be scrutinized by a jury of their peers.

This video is relevant.

This is a less elegant interpretation, but one that's none the less solid, and may actually be closer to the truth.

I'm not sure. :blob_unsure: The ones he fought have long ago left us. I've been there and even talked with them myself, but they all left. He is fighting windmills.
The main one I remember that got the nastiest was with this woman named Moonpearl. That one lasted months. I remember Tony being extraordinarily biased. Like Moonpearl would say some nasty shit, and Blade would respond, but Tony would only delete Blade's responses. And then Moonpearl would gloat and taunt him about it later on after the fact and several people, me included, would PM Tony with screenshots about how one-sided he was being, but no response. I honestly think Tony personally has it in for him, like they have history elsewhere or something.

Anyway, Moonpearl became more scarce when others noticed what she was doing.
