Can't figure out the title placement...

As much as I like Hans's covers, the font he used is not particularly unique or suitable for webnovels. Seems like they were inspired by Japanese Light Novels. You want something really vibrant and preferably in a larger font, so people can read it even when your story shows up under "Updated."...

That time I got scammed by AI

I am pro AI here. This is a super useful guide. Who follows what AI says word for word? Use it to inspire yourself, but don't follow it like a sheep. I don't think you can argue that anything here is blatantly false, and almost anyone would realize that some of these steps are optional. The AI...

Which cover should I choose for my action- and harem-heavy isekai?

Covers are not bad at all! Probably the one where the girl is holding the shield... Horny covers apparently do well on this site.

After a strong start, views on story has stagnated. Need help.

You have less than 25 chapters... so over 100 readers is already quite good. If you upload at your current pace, I don't think you can expect many more readers. Your Ratio of Readers / Chapters is quite decent! Just keep on writing. If you are concerned with readers, I would suggest shortening...

Rejected by Royal Road, new low?

Do more than 15% of your chapters contain smut? Rape aspect is not illegal as long as it's not glorified.... Usually, this only happens if your early chapters contain a lot of smut. That way, your early ratio of smut is well above the threshold. You might want to censor your chapters and...

How do you like to emphasize specific words?

That's how AI operates. I refuse to highlight words for impact! The writing should speak for itself. I hate telling my readers, "Listen here, this word is important or has special impact, take a good look, you dummy!" Context should be enough. I only use italic for the MC's internal thoughts.

Patreon Question: Why does it say I have a $5 membership when I set it to $1??

I am not sure that the price changes for current members. Could be that he pays the old price. I know it works the other way around. If you charge 5 bucks, then increase the price to 10 bucks, the old members still pay 5 bucks.

    Silencing a scam artist...

Usually, when people contact you (doesn't matter where) and their accounts are only a couple of months old, you should just ignore/block them. That method has been 100% accurate thus far.

    Silencing a scam artist...

I've been caught a few times as well! Sometimes scammers enter your Discord and actually discuss your story, talking about the latest chapter... but then if you talk with them, they quickly expose themselves, and you realize they have indeed read your story... exactly the last CHAPTER... ONLY...

Have You Been Attacked by Your Readers for Creative Decisions?

Really? Mods are pretty strict; if you get insulted/attacked, you can report them, and the posts get taken down swiftly. Even non-justified Reviews can be deleted relatively easily. Can you elaborate?

Warning: if you use tools like Grammarly, you need to check the output.

Grammarly always tries to tighten and condense your writing. It's created and programmed to deliver as much content in as few words as possible. Any word not strictly required for your sentence, like "just," is deemed irrelevant and thus unwanted. There are countless other examples. I've...

I just use Grammarly for spelling errors and missing commas ;)

What is a normal chapter release schedule for a web novel?

I started out with 7 + 1-3 bonus chapters per week. Then I started a second series, so I released 14 chapters per week... nearly had a total burnout and reduced it to 5 + 5 = 10 a week. Nowadays, it's around 4 + 4 = 8 a week, and I can barely handle that. I'd say it all depends on what your...

Have You Been Attacked by Your Readers for Creative Decisions?

Yes, countless times! Mostly on Webnovel, where insults and callouts are just the norm. I've also been called a transphone because I've included a certain character in my HxH fanfic that got killed but continues to exist as a Nen spirit. Anyway, that character is male and only possesses female...

    Writing in First Person

Personally, I really dislike first-person stories, but I have seen a lot of them, and some were highly rated and had thousands of readers, so there really isn't a right or wrong. Just do what you feel like, as long as your story is great, the technical things don't matter much.

Are you a bot? How is this even a tiny bit related to the topic? This is just your random story promotion?

    About a new story

You have the absolute worst font and title on your cover that I have ever seen... or is there some kind of deeper meaning behind it that I am too stupid to realize? I feel like I'm about to be humiliated, but I just don't get it.

    Barking up the wrong tree?

You are not the only one who hates the shout-out game. Everyone does. It's almost a side job. You spend as much time marketing/lining up shoutouts as you do writing, and it's hell... but what is the alternative? Releasing chapters to one or two active readers who my chance have stumbled across...
