:blob_hmm: Your opinions on powerscalers in shonen manga fanbases
What is powerscalers ?
It's a measurement system that helps gauge and compare the strength, abilities, or powers of characters, creatures, or entities within the story's universe. What the topic is about is how its made in shonen manga and what do we think about it, like for exemple in every shonen every time a big villain come, he all time stronger than the previous one, so the mc goes to a training/awaken a power/ gain enlightment/power of friendship/transformation to defeat the new villain.

I’d say the biggest problem with power scaling and power creep in shonen are the build ups.

spoilers for various shonuns ahead but I’m sure if anyone has any interest in DBZ they’ve aleady known the story

DBZ for instance, Frieza is this powerful Evil galactic ruler with lots of history and the build up to him after vegeta was massive. Then all of a sudden the new enemy is some guy who was created by Dr. Gero

Naruto, you got orichimaru who has this huge build up, kind of like final boss status, then all of a sudden, “oh it was uchiha madara and kaguya or whatever that alien demoness name was all along that’s the final bad guy.”

Shonen reaches into unknown elements too much that subverts history. Same in Bleach, soul society was the best arc when talking about captains, then oh we have arrancer and then Quincy for a blood war after a time skip. The build up to fight Captain bayakuya was way better than hueco mundo although Aizen was interesting to some extent, but the power scaling was so messed up there.

It feels like all build ups are pointless when the next baddie comes and is more powerful than the last.

I mean, at this point no one takes dragon ball super power scaling seriously.

So, our opinion on power creep? Or what? Why mention fanbases if you want to talk about power creep in shonens?

Don't know why they mention fanbase. Maybe it's for the manga who have a large fanbase like the big three?

Fanbase powerscale is just what the fans could speculate and theorize at best. They're obviously innacurate, biased, and too vague at best.

Everything is already decided by author, editor, and publisher. There's no clear benefit on power-scaling or power-measuring a rigged dolls of the story, especially when there's no way to 100% prove anything via objective test.

:blob_hmm: You didn't narrow it down at all. In fact, you expanded the scope.

Ever heard jokes about punching through time and space or beating someone up with just the sound of your heart beat or a blink? This guy can do just that.
A poorly written, all-powerful character of a mid-tier fantasy show.
It's actually pretty well-done for a power fantasy. There's an actual plot going on (a mystery plot), and the world building and magic system are well fleshed out. I would take the OPness of the MC as more like a parody, kind of like Saitama in that regard. It's funny because of how absurd it is. And he's not using it to solve the plot problem instantly; like I said, the main plot is mystery.

It is just as big of a mystery as asking who posts "boobs" comments on Anon's profile repeatedly. Saw the hero twist already a mile away, same with the main plotline. Meh. It has entertainment value that is why I follow it but it isn't well written. It is a fast-food type show that is ntertaining if you turn your brain off.
