Hey guys! Every time I post a “writing prompt” it’s either unanswered or gets turned into not a writing prompt and then upsets those that wish to keep the writing prompt section clear of shenanigans. I totally understand the desire to prevent general chatting from moving into a section set aside for NOT that, so from now on I’ll be posting any Writing Prompt adjacent Threads in the Author General chat with a WP: Title format. This way, if it gets sidelined it doesn’t junk up the writing prompt section.

If there’s anything else I can do to help keep the forum from descending into chaos and anarchy, please let me know.

Now, writing prompt: You are an author cursed to creat writing prompts that make other authors famous. What do you do? Do you design stupid prompts so others are famous for stupid things? Do you hire a ghost writer?

You can put a "serious" disclaimer in the writing prompt. Or ask for serious answers, and anyone that doesn't actually answer the prompt, simply report their post in the thread. If you start putting prompts in Author General someone else can report your OP, and then it will be moved into Writing Prompts by the mods.

Envy was a famous author under a publishing site. She became so skilled at writing that the publisher asked her to make writing prompts for other aspiring authors, hoping for new talent. Her prompts were intriguing enough that authors even wrote entire novels with them, but overtime she got bored. The key to success was the same dull formula. Another Isekai? Another Harem novel?

Every single time they were the same, and she'd sigh. So this time she devised an evil scheme. The people wanted harem. The people wanted isekai, and the publisher wanted talent. Hehehe~

She went through all of the furry sites, finding authors of talent. She knew that the furry community paid big bucks to their suppliers, and she would turn the publisher into a furry dealing haven.

"Obviously, they will thank me later. Especially when they see the millions raked in. Those stockholders will love me. Every prompt from now on will be a furry, harem, isekai. Hehehe~."

Where should I post for unserious replies then?

Just trying for a good balance, I don’t want to report people that are having fun

Just make the prompt a joke type of prompt. Put in the prompt that you would like a joke answer. Also, the type of prompt will usually dictate if it's comedy or not. Most of my prompt threads were full of comedy. I made a fantasy races talking to psychiatrists of the same race, and that is a silly scenario if you think about it. If you want to have just shitposts maybe put it in General?

This. Just report off-topic replies. Yes, even me.

Cool! That makes sense! I’m rather new to interacting on forums and stuff, as I usually just ghosted ? . I feel bad reporting people but it makes sense in the context. Thank you guys for the help!
