Writing fan fiction of another author's work.

Have any of you considered writing fan fiction about someone else's work on scribblehub? There's quite a few stories that had a lot of potential but stop right when things are getting good.

Hell no. At best I'd write something that satirizes another work.

If you do anything like this, do ask the author about it. Most here will probably be fine with it as long as it doesn't go into trying to make an income off it. And even then my guess is enough would be fine with it, and if its different enough you could even call it a separate work entirely. Whatever you do, ask the author. They'd probably be so psyched.
