Hey everyone!
I’m the author of a web novel currently in development, and I’m looking for an artist collaborator to help me adapt the first three chapters into a manga-style one-shot (approx. 25–30 pages).

Synopsis:
Minato is a second-year high schooler and a talented left-back who struggles with deep self-doubt and a "Nonchalant" mask. He thinks he’s a nobody until Emi—a world-famous idol from the group Stars—transfers to his class and sits right next to his desk.
It’s a story about the contrast between their worlds: his cramped apartment and sweat-stained soccer practices vs. her flashing lights and massive estate.

What I have ready:

3 Full Chapters: Roughly 4,500 words of content covering their meeting, a walk home, and the social fallout at school.
Character Profiles: Clear descriptions of Minato (brown mullet, stoic, athletic) and Emi (ethereal light-blue hair, professional "idol" smile).
Scripting: Im working on it (Almost Done)

What I’m looking for:

Since this is currently an unpaid passion project, I’m looking for an artist who wants to build their portfolio or practice their sequential storytelling. I’m specifically looking for someone who enjoys:
Slice-of-life/High school aesthetics.
Drawing sports action (soccer).
Genre Drama, Romance, Sports, School Life.
Expressive character acting (contrasting Minato's "poker face" with Emi's "idol energy").

Goal:
I’d love to complete a 25–30 page one-shot to help promote the novel and potentially enter it into contests or post it on platforms like MangaDex or Webtoon Canvas.
If you're interested in the "gloomy athlete x shining idol" dynamic, please drop a comment or DM me with some of your art samples!.

Notice:The thumbnail art is AI so that it not the actual design for The Character Emi

I hope to hear Back

Here’s actual advice: write, get better, and get noticed. Perhaps through Tapas. Sign an exclusive deal with them. Then maaaaybe there’s a small chance they’ll offer to turn your work into a webtoon.

Slow clap.
Great speech.
I am sorry but idk if any artist is interested over this especially the state of economy. It's a rough commitment since it is free labor.

Maybe save up $1000 to $1500 USD and pay an artist to do 10 to 16 pages. A one-shot does not need to be too long. It is just like writing; an editor can just look at a few pages and tell if it will hit.

Or just do it yourself. If the writing and storytelling are good, the art just needs to be consistent and easy to understand. Orb: On the Movement of the Earth managed to get an anime, and the art in the original manga is a little rough. And of course, there is One-Punch Man, which started as a gag webcomic. Even though the art was not the best, the visual storytelling was there; another artist saw the vision, and it was picked up.

:blob_hmm_two: Why would you think about art when you barely have written 4K words? Without meaning to be offensive, but your writing needs way more polishing to be readable.
