Yeah, b
I've been kind of doubting some of my latest chapters. I kind of write with an overarching idea in mind while coming up with some stuff when I need to.

Now that I've reached more than 30 chapters I feel like any new chapter I write is going to derail something and then throw my overarching idea into disarray.

Anyone face anything similar
Yeah, but it usually ends well. I write off of inspiration so when I think ahead, when its time to finally write that portion the ideas have been bubbling for some time and I get new inspiration for another direction thats way better.

I'm about to hit 70 chapters and have had this issue as well. I've sort of just pushed forward and if I ever have an issue my mind set is to either fix it later on with an explanation or take a break and look back at the series as a whole and go to each chapter making patches.

I had those kinds of doubts too, but usually it's not too hard to steer the story back on course with a slightly different ordering of dialogue/events, or a little bit of extra content in the next chapter to do so.

However, if a massive change feels inevitable because it's simply how the story flows and changing it back would feel unnatural/bad, embrace the change! Just keep the ideas and plot points you've already written in mind and incorporate them whenever the story heads somewhere that they would fit in well.

That's what I do for my stories, and it works out well. The overall flow is most important so it doesn't disturb the suspension of disbelief which is what keeps people invested even if some aspect of the quality dips.
