The magical girl who is definitely not a scammer appears in front of you and demands that you pay $100:

Option A: Pay her $100 right now. If you don't have $100, you should go to the bank/ATM and immediately withdraw that amount (or take out a loan) and give it to her immediately. By paying the magical girl right now, she won't fiddle with your fate.

Option B: Refuse to pay her money. The magical girl tells you that she will take away $1000 in your future earnings. You will never know exactly when/where you would have earned those future earnings, but the magical girl will modify your fate so that the future you is $1000 poorer than you otherwise would have been.

What would you do?

If they can steal money by twisting fate... why are they asking for 100 from me?
Hm, I guess it could be a technicality of language?

Let’s say the magical girl modifies your fate so your next boss gives you a lower salary by $1000. This doesn’t mean that the magical girl gets $1000 herself or has stolen it per say, but rather that your original boss has $1000 more than they should have.

So does the magical girl actually need the money? Or is it just someone pretending to be a magical girl and hoping that I lose money in the future...
And if were to twist fate to make a boss pay incorrectly, anything stopping me from bringing it up and being compensated?

I don't have 100 dollars, I'm broke, I'll instead beg her for the money.

$100 is very cheap price to see a literal magical girl, or to be helped by magical girl.

Most people who lives in the world where magical girls exist, rarely see them physically in real life, due to the nature of their appearance, there must be "hard to survive" scenarios.

Magical girl, if she is the righteus one, must've good reason to fiddle with fate.

Some Magical Power tend to have those kind of restrictions. Sometimes a price need to be paid to prevent the bigger cost, they can't do it for Free.

If she's Neutral or Evil, which barely make any difference at this point, they can just decide to take my money for fun, and asking me is just a either necessity or kindness courtesy.

Regardless, it's a unstoppable that I'mgoing to lsoe my money either way.

I will do it once, just once. Once or twice is the maximum.

I will try to stop it and try to get some help once I see some repeated pattern.

I can do this because for the fact that I know she is a "magical girl who is definitely not a scammer". Because I know the fact she is NOT scamming me, due to the absolute nature of the question, I can trust it.

If You dont trust the fact of "magical girl who is definitely not a scammer", might as well not trust the whole question in the first place.

It's like being asked what was 2 apple + 3 apple, and answering "2 apple because i don't believe the other 3 exist".

Eveb If the magical girl is scamming me, If she is a righteous one, If I cannot get help, I can pretend that I'm giving help to a "magical girl", giving help to a Hero, like I'm helping an injured firefighter that got incident and need $100.

If she is scamming me, and she is an Neutral or Evil magical girl, that means I'm just simply being robbed at gunpoint. Giving her $100 would be better.

Neutral or Evil magical girl tend to be nasty in their way of work, I will definitey lose the $1000 in the most uncontrolled damaging way. She could just stole it with her power. Better lose $100 in the way I can control.

If she is not a magical girl and she is scamming me, if she is not dangerous, I will ask for help and not give her.

If she is not a magical girl and she is scamming me, she has weapon or not weapon, If she is dangerous, I will just give the money.

If she is not a magical girl and she is scamming me, she has weapon or not, but she is not dangerous, I will not give $100 and try to get help.

That's it. Assuming I'm whoever currently I Am, with all my weakness from previous world, but the world simply just more dangerous with supranatural sheanigan and more unnanounced mysterious death.

It's already a blessing to be transported to a world where I can still enjoy the modern technology and society.

I won't pay up. What's 1000 dollars anyway? I earn 200 a month, I'll probably never see that amount in my life anyway.

I'd pay up if she was still standing after I ran out of ammunition.

Ah yes magdumping her hundreds of dollars worth of bullets. Another viable option that would make you wish you paid up instead.

No I wouldn't, honestly instead I'd pay her with the idea of being a content creator rather then a hooligan at least that way she'd get bank.

I'd give her the $100 and then give $200 to the evil folks.

I'd take her to Candy Moutain and tell her my money is inside the cave.

Then I'd turn her into a magical girl with no kidneys!

I mean.... Candy mountain!

Paying $100 to see or receive aid from a magical girl can indeed be considered a bargain, given the rarity and potential power involved. Magical girls, by their very nature, don’t appear casually or often; their presence usually signals dire or complex situations where fate itself is being manipulated. So this “price” reflects not just the service, but the gravity and rarity of the encounter.
You highlight an important point that magical girls, especially if righteous, would only interfere with fate for a justified reason. They likely operate under strict rules or moral codes, which explains why their help isn’t free — some kind of “cost” or “price” must be paid to prevent even greater damage or consequences. This makes sense in a supernatural system where balance or karma might play a role.

If the magical girl is neutral or evil, as you say, their motivations may be self-serving or even malicious, which could mean they take money for mere amusement or personal gain. This makes trusting them riskier, but ironically the cost of refusal or conflict may be greater.
