Would these covers attract readers?

Looking for a slightly different type of feedback.

My covers are made in Canva, but I have ZERO background in graphic design. I have no idea if they're any good or attractive enough to hook readers at first glance. Would any of these interest you, or would you pass them by?

To be brutally honest, if there's no other fics that has garnered my attention first, then your two novels would grab mine with these covers.
Oh and also, move the discussion to author discussion. This thread is for discussing the site, not author stuff.

I like the one for Corner Store, especially how the title is on the store front. I'd click on it.

Mischosen is good enough, though I don't care for how the word got split up. I can see why you did it, and I don't know how to make the cover better with it on one line. But that's my only complaint about it- strictly as a cover design. I read the synopsis, and the cover doesn't seem to reflect what the story is about. I assumed it was a calm, relaxing story. Like a historical romance, or low-stakes slice of life, or even just something that takes place in the real world. So if you're trying to attract fantasy/paranormal readers, I would change everything about it. Pick a different picture and use a color scheme that reflects that. (The font is okay.) Because right now, if I was a reader looking for a story about angels and demons and the world falling apart, I would scroll right past it.

Let's be honest... do you like this cover? I do. But is it marketable enough to attract new readers? The answer is, not necessarily. The opinions of casual SH readers may differ. My tastes can't be generalized.

They look good, currently I find more minimalist, non anime covers, with sharp contrast as my cup of tea. Your 1st one is close to what I look for but is too green and yellow, imo. Of course it is better than anything I could do, but nothing sticks out if that makes sense. If the sky were more blue, grey, orange, purple, etc. the foreground might stand out more. However I might be wrong. Your second cover is better imo, my biggest criticism is that it might have too much going on but that is more of a nitpick than a serious suggestion.

Your question may be biased and subject to different interpretations in your thread title and explanation.

If you ask forum members... the answers may be more representative of the author's answers than SH readers.

My suggestion... you should do your own research on popular SH covers. Check out popular novels, what their covers are like, what their cover styles are, and how they differ.

This way, you might be able to get a more representative answer regarding the covers that readers like.

Thanks, that's a good suggestion. I just want to know what writers with more experience thought of my covers, but I'll definitely try doing that when I have the time.

Ah, I got you.
Show of hands, is this better or worse? Is the second one a bit much?

It's hard to say, since there's more literature than any of us can hope to consume in a single lifestyle. I may pick up Mischosen, but the cover to Corner Store looks generic. When I see books like that in stores, or someone reading them, I don't see the appeal. We shouldn't judge books by their covers, but since you can't read every book, it's part of the vetting process. That being said, there's likely someone with the exact opposite opinion of me. I'd say a better test is asking people what they think the cover conveys, without any further context. If the opinions generally align with your goal, then you're doing a great job.

Mischosen is giving me a female-led, emotional story that's promising character intimacy that will leave the reader attached. Corner Store is giving me that this story is literally about a corner store, and there isn't a visual hook, so it leaves me wondering "why would I want to read about a corner store?"

This is just based off the covers, and has nothing to do with the qualities or themes of either. That being said, I see plenty of people reading books that look like Corner Store, I just think they're usually getting them from a marketable source, not just picking up a random book.
