if he can only kill and not create anything then he's not really a god, he's just a murderer
you don't have to create to be a god, it's not like the geniune shinigami in his world do anything special the only difference is that they're immortal and depending on how you define a god you don't necessarily have to never be able to die, even the shinigami could die if they put themselves at risk.

Whenever MC gets OP, I lose all the interest in the story.
This is especially true when MC hides his powers and allows himself to be bullied, only to show in the end how superior he is. Bruh.
The only thing worse are the people that try to defend those stories if you criticize it. They'll try to say crap like "BuT He'Ll dRaW atTenTioN to HiMSElf aNd his FRIENDS will be in DanGER!" and it's like bro, the MC hiding his power for no reason is precisely the reason why all the villains are messing with him in the first place.
It's really funny when the story has the MC threaten someone and then somehow the person threatened is supposed to be stupid somehow for not heeding the warning, when if you look at it from their perspective it's like being threatened by someone pathetically weak.

stupid or not, those stories are very enjoyable. it's like watching a brawl: you know who will win but the process is entertaining.

Harem, whenever the story starts to go that way I tend to loose interest quick.

Love triangles where only one love interest wins.

“The more you love, the more you can love--and the more intensely you love. Nor is there any limit on how many you can love. If a person had time enough, he could love all of that majority who are decent and just.”

To pull of a good "MC hiding his power" trope you'd normally need stakes high enough that MC flaunting his MCness would just make things worse for everyone involved instead of the typical "Oh noes, this random angwy person says mean things to me! Let's act like a punching bag, so they leave me alone! ME smarts! Me genus!!!" and then punching them 20 chapters of bullying later going "suprise MOTHAFAKKA! I could have punched you to oblivion 20 chapters ago, but I somehow needed to collect damsel points for reasons unknown to both readers and characters!"

Either this or
Harem, whenever the story starts to go that way I tend to loose interest quick.
Especially if the harem comes out of nowhere after there's already a solid and interesting relationship established.

If both those tropes are achieved at once, there's no way I'll read that story, no matter how great that story is proclaimed to be.

hypnosis/mind control. crutches for lazy amateur writing, skipping all the fun gaslighting, manipulation, and psychological struggles.

wish fulfillment with mc getting instantly ripped, handsome, and a 19 incher.
I lost a lot of interest and eventually dropped death commando partially because of the latter. It marked the turning point where the story began feeling like a power fantasy. No hate to the author, and they still seemed to be doing decently with the story beyond that, just not my thing

It's hard to push me completely away from a series unless it's the first episode/chapter. Some things that would: making it clear from the beginning that it's got violence just for the sake of being edgy, and "comedy" that's not actually funny. Of course, that's only for stuff I actually try to read/watch, there are plenty of genres that I know just aren't my thing so I usually avoid them.

Delaying romance just to stretch it out instead of letting it happen naturally.

I originally planned for my two leads to take several months before starting a relationship but it turns out they're both so thirsty for each other it's going to happen much faster than I wanted.

Dense protagonist but again there are no bad tropes, only bad authors.
So nearly every Japanese harem protag ever? Yep. I hate it too. Even worse are the stories where MC seems deathly allergic of pretty women and erections, and nearly has a heart attack when a woman shows any interest. And these are teenage guys? Bullshit. Any teen guy with even a modicum of interest in women would already be stripping and leaping at any half pretty woman with breasts if she showed the interest and acceptance. I call bullshit on anyone saying otherwise. Hormones and all that.

That's a very narrow and poor definition of a God. Plenty of old belief systems featured Gods who never created and only destroyed. Hell, low hanging fruit example, Ares.

Aside from the usual tropes already mentioned, Id like to mention that I hate it alot when a story reaches that mythical point where there is no more consistency in the world building.

It is very common for litrpg's/magic system stories to reach this point eventually, when the author has written himself in a corner wanting something to happen that cannot happen under the rules provided by world building and just "invents" a fix to make it happen anyways. That "fix" usually breaks the world building of the entire story.

The prime example for this from "mainstream" would be Star Wars 8 and the light speed maneuver that destorys the entire "bad guy" fleet at the end.

I really like my consistent world building.

Parasitic characters.

I hate reading story where the mc has to constantly fight for control of their own body. It’s not fun for me to read when I know accomplishments and progress can be undone at any moment

“Killing doesn’t affect me at all”

Oh phew I was worried you’d be an interesting character

Yeah find it crazy how some characters are naturally desensitized to killing, especially in isekai stories. Even Che Guevara couldn’t look someone in the eyes when he executed them.

Agreed, but not for that reason.
Hypnosis and mind control are never used to their fullest extent except for Bleach. Aizen hypnotized practically EVERYONE. Where as in every other story the villain only targets a handful of people at most. Even worse is hentai where the villain/MC only uses it to create sex slaves. It's really taking an op world conquering power and just being small/dick brain. Then throw in the MC somehow is immune, or over comes it via plot armor. It's such a waste that I can't help but be revulsed by it now.
