I started writing after burning out and quitting my job as a web developer.

Writing is my new career. :blob_cookie:

I don't make as much as I used to, but I'm more proud of what I do earn. :blob_uwu:

When I'm consistent, I probably write 4+ hours a day. Today I did a 3.8k chapter in 3.5hr (and I streamed it all!), which is fast for me. But, there are many hours on top of this that go into the numerous secondary tasks that isn't writing directly.

I didn't write when working, but I did do an awful lot of reading when I probably should have been working :)

What do you all do? How often do you get to write?
I work in game development. I usually write from 7pm to 2am.

Two days a week I edit chapters so they're good to be scheduled,

One day a week I take a break and write my sillier LitRPG story.

Out of the four remaining ones, I spend 1 or 2 evening hammering out new chapters. The rest is used up by real life stuff or relaxation.

I'm a Bouncer/Security for a Gentleman's Club....which in the USA, is a fancy term for Strip Clubs that cater to more wealthy clients. It has other amenities like a bar, a high-class restaurant, card-game tables with high-stakes or otherwise....and is just as much of a social club as it is a strip club. I'm often referred to as Door Staff as well, even though most of us don't actually stand in front of doors glaring at everyone who enters. That's actually the least popular assignment during work hours and is usually assigned to the new guy, or someone who screwed something up.

I like to make the joke that it's literally my job to make sure rich drunks don't get too handsy with the mostly naked women.

So, I work full-time as a housekeeping supervisor. I write either before work or after. Sometimes I can get lucky and sneak off during work and crank out a chapter. What do you all do? How often do you get to write?
atm, I'm waiting for my duty report notification and decree. But as someone who will become a civil servant, it's definitely going to be after work. And I write daily, assuming I have nothing to brought home

That's impressive.

I'm a landscape designer. I used to only write for a couple hours on Saturdays, but that was getting me nowhere. I eventually realized that I should prioritize what I love to do rather than what makes me money right away. So now I write for at least a couple hours each morning before work. It leaves me with less hours and therefore lower income, but it's much more satisfying. And the writing will eventually lead to higher income anyway. So it's a win-win in the long run.:s_smile:
