Good? That's insane for daily writing. That's some Chinese web novel level of daily update speed.
I take an entire day doing 4k-10k writing, all those with intervals in-between. When I was still teaching, I'd write after a class. If ever I reached more than 4k, I usually chop it to several chapters (maximum of 4k each...I removed my habit of writing 6k per chapter before)Out of curiosity, how long are your writing sessions? Every time I try to write that much per day I physically can't because my fingers start stiffening up.
...Though come to think of it, I type a lot for school work too, so that might be why. And I tend to write after I finish my school work...
...Maybe I should start doing that by hand. Might save my finger stamina.
Oooh. That definitely explains it. When I write 4k+, I do it in an hour. Your approach sounds much more reasonable. And healthy. And less strain on the fingers. I'll have to try it out sometime.I take an entire day doing 4k-10k writing, all those with intervals in-between. When I was still teaching, I'd write after a class. And yes, I'm writing in a notebook first, then transfer to computer once I'm satisfied. I also add or subtract passages depending on my preferences while typing what I wrote.
Biggest word count that I reached is 15k in a day, but I ended up trimming a lot of unnecessary stuff when I re-read that particular passage.
