The problem with thease games is that they have a lot to do but none of it is good. Quantity over quality. I think less is more for an AC game. I love black flag I think that was the right balance of stuff in an ac game.
Black flag is my top game, the pirate aspect, the world building it was genuinely perfect in my opinion.

mfw its all about big numbers instead of assassination.
Yeah imagine those numbers damage that appear on a level 20.
After Ubisoft support gave me the middle finger when my newly purchased copy of siege soft locked itself in an unplayable state I vowed not buy another Ubisoft game.

From the looks of it I’m not missing out on much
Wow,i can understand your crush out damn.
I've kinda always hated Ubisoft even before they started pushing out what everybody else thinks is garbage. I remember getting a few of their games as Christmas/birthday presents during the Wii era and they were all shit so I guess I just always associated them with shovelware. Then I tried to give them a chance with Far Cry 5 when that came out and it was just okay.
I never played far cry 5 ,i watched a few walkthroughs and decided i ain't playing it.

Adding numbers into AC series was a mistake.
I could agree more. The rpg mechanics added in odyssey really took away from the assasin part of assasins creed. If im a stealthy assasin why do I need stats surely I should be using my cunning and stealth to kill people? Also I can see where you came from with black flag personally it felt right for me. (Also pirate cannons go BOOM BOOM)

I feel this way about open world games in general. Really hope the industry reprioritizes more focused design. I'm sick of giant maps filled with mmo quality quests and writing, or Zelda games where every puzzle is a self contained mini game instead of a dungeon that adds to the world feel. Even that Elden Ring game, it was my first Dark Souls type game that I ever played and I got sucked into the hype of it and the whole time I was playing it all I could think was "This is probably better if I didn't have to run mile between the bosses."

I think open world are kind of played out at this point. Back in the day open world were a bit rare so it was exciting now they are a dime a dozen. The last truly good open world for me was mgsv tpp

Origins. They were added in Origins. :blob_cookie: Also, numbers can work, they worked in Shadows of War or Shadows of Mordor. It's just... They are real shitty in AC. I don't know what exactly is wrong, but they simply don't work. Even in Shadows there were some orc captains you could one-shot with stealth attacks. Doesn't matter how high their level is, if they are weak towards stealth attacks you can one shot them. Then we get AC where you can't one shot characters that have higher level. I don't know, looks lazy.

They should really add more creative ways to assassinate than adding level restrictions to be honest. But making an open world game with hitman levels of creativity ceiling for the players would take too much effort, and Ubisoft clearly hates the E word.

A big thing for me, that kills open worlds is that its a wonder killer. I had this thought when I was playing BG3 and I was in camp right before entering the city, and the backdrop is absolutely huge, massive tracts of lands, valleys rivers, and the city itself completely dwarfs the playable area and that kinda let my mind wander and think about what else is out there. If the game was open world I'd probably be able to go to all those places I saw in BG3s backdrop and I bet, because of how grand the size of the map would be, that what I would find would be absolutely boring.

Its like when the killer or monster is finally revealed in a horror movie and it's just not even close to being as scary as what you might have imagined.

There isn't enough actual historical information about Yasuke to even make a 30 minute animated episode.
It will still be better than what they made if they give me a 30 minute animated episode. At least I would watch it.

I’m pretty sure that is enough information. I mean, if you heard about the Ed and Lorraine Warren that led to The Conjuring.

What really happened, is that Ed went against the person’s wish to not try and draw out whatever had a hold on their wife.

Aside from some chilling recollection of the event. The person punched Ed, and demanded they leave. Afterwards, things went back to normal.

Given this contained information, which wasn’t much. They made a whole movie out of it, and added on some stuff. :blob_hmm:

I might try it out if it becomes free or dirt cheap, like less than 5 dollars.
Other than that, I'm not interested in spending anything on it.
