Web novel has a crappy interface. Only plain text, nothing like here or RR where you have a lot of tools on your disposal. I gave up when I published chapter 11 there as I could not upload any artwork or the Litrpg blue boxes. Really crap site holding on their former glory

If you're looking for other sites to publish your work, I can recommend a few:

1) HoneyFeed
2) Pixiv
3) Syosetu
Pixiv sounds interesting, I might give it a try.

But Syosetu sounds even more attractive, but I see that the site is completely Japanese, and I don't really speak it, and I don't know if they are okay with a novel in English.

Well, my novel is written in English, and I never MTL'd it (though someone here assumed I was, I find it amusing). I upload in Syosetu using Google translate feature in my browser (to navigate the Japanese site), and so far, I have traffic here than on WebNovel.

My view count is pretty low because I'm not uploading chapters recently. I just finished updating it till my 15th volume (and 325th chapter). But, my reader count there per day can get as high as 600+ (on days I'm uploading a volume). Average high is around 550+ views. Average readers per 'update' day is around 100+, which can last up to two days, depending on the length of your update.

Formatting in English (the Italics, Bold, and Underlines) are non-existent, similar to Pixiv and WebNovel, though you can insert images inside chapters in Syosetu and Pixiv. The only difference is, in Pixiv, you can do a direct upload of images, while in Syosetu, you'll have to get the link via Mitemin.

Question: Are they okay with English works?

Okay, that's interesting, thank you very much for your information.

It's quite interesting and certainly a better alternative than webnovel without a doubt.

Thank you very much, really

Sleeping Princess has been on both SH and WN for a while. My stats are great on botb sites. I say, why not? Good luck deleting the story though if you choose to leave...

Webnovel is pretty crappy site as everyone have already said, but they don't really force you to sign anything.

Their contract is pretty crappy as well. They have something called MGS (minimum guarantee system) which guarantee you get paid 200$ every month for the first four months if you wrote 1.5k words everyday without a miss. It's there for those who earned less than 200$ in a month. Then after the four month period is over, you are on your own. You can also not write 1.5k per day, but you simply won't benefit from the MSG, meaning you just earn from whatever percentage of royalties in the contract. And yes, they will have full ownership to your copyrights, though there is a non exclusive contract that let you still retain your rights but with less royalties I think.

If you're not there for the money and just looking to increase your reader base, then you can go for it. Though I am not sure if the community there fancy GB stories.

I don't think there's anything dangerous in posting English works there. I wonder where the rumors about getting banned for uploading OELNs in that site came from?

The only problem I encountered with Syosetu is that, most of them can't understand English and I have to use Google translate everytime I update.
