Why use AI to write your "book"?

The saying about an infinite number of monkeys with typewriters, strangely, do apply to the "AI" generated stories, it is relatively close to how it works, but you need to consider probability.

If there is an infinite number of monkeys (with typewriters), what is the probability that you would pick the one that would inevitably write Shakespeare's Sonet?

Infinitely small.

Some people use it for editing. Some people use it for ideas. Personally, I feel like if you have to use AI even if it's to give yourself a push, you basically lost the battle. Writer's block sucks ass, but half the learning process of writing (and doing anything, really) is figuring something out yourself.

If you manage to get past a difficult part to write using your own power, you'll be able to do it again (or at least not suffer as much) the next time something equally or more challenging comes up. If you jump to AI the first time, you'll do it again the second time and you will never grow.

Probably kids playing writers.
Personally, I use AI to translate my works and optimize the text. However, the final revision is 100% mine. I have very nasty experience with some AIs when they get too 'creative'.

Probably kids playing writers.
Most kids aren't interested in things like reading and writing.

They wouldn't even consider something like using AI to become a writer.

That would require them at least read what the AI produced, and that's "booooooooooooooring" ...

...at least for most kids. They are more interested in purely visual things (which is ironically something AI is comparatively better at)

A kid genuinely interested in "playing writer" would write the story himself. It would most likely to be poorly written story, as the kid would lack the education, training or experience in creative writing, but would be written by him (or her) as it require rather rare mindset and interests to be even interested in this.

Rare mindset for those who love the art of storytelling.
But if they're lazy (and most people are), then it's a game with AI.

Not that I'm worried. Even working with AI needs some skills and dedication. For example, if you want to write a novel with AI, you still need to know how to steer the plot in the direction you want. You need to know what fits the story and what doesn't. If you don't get the basics, then AI will steer the story AND you in a random direction, like a mindless puppet.
