I get that exile is always equivalent to death because foreign grounds etc, but I am shaking my head with the whole "oh, let's throw MC out of our party/ kingdom even though they have been a great source of accomplishment that had carried us till now."
You've never had a job, have you?

Look, murder is bad. Not everyone has the stomach to just kill everyone who gets in the way. But let's say you got some guy who works for you who is ticking you off. You, are delusional. You think the sun rises and sets on your ass because EVERYTHING in your self esteem is tied up in your job.

Now this guy is doing your job better than you.

Do you MURDER your employee?

No.

You use reputation assassination, get everyone else to turn on the idiot who thinks doing a good job is enough and politics doesn't matter, and banish/fire his ass.

Do you HONESTLY believe your supervisor gives two shots about the "good of the company"?

No no no. It's all about THEM. And this shot happens ALL THE TIME. The whole banishment/firing the keystone of the party thing happens I'm the real world CONSTANTLY.

LOOK. Let me fill you in on reality.

Do you HONESTLY think people BELIEVE in that DEI/Woke crap? Do you believe that the me too movement was about helping WOMEN?

You poor delusional fool.

It was ALWAYS about power, control, and getting rid of rivals. Nobody actually cares about women or minorities. It's just about HOW CAN I GET MINE? People use that excuse to target their enemies in positions of power.

How many AAA gaming companies are flapping the bed right now? How many flappy movies movies have been lately that are terrible?

What happened?

The exact same thing that happened in those JP Mangas. The competent employee sucked at politics, someone wanted their job, so they got fired because even though they were one of the top astrophysicist in the country, he dared to wear a shirt with hula girls on it.

You might think those manga make no sense, but the only part of them that makes no sense is that they get revenge. The bad guys in the real world usually win.

You know what is said, NTR is a trash fetish. :P
True. I like hentai, but not NTR. That's just how they would run the hentai they used the plot in.

Yes I do!
It's the only way to keep them from causing you problems latter, and not just in fantasy settings!

I don't know what kind of story you read, but on my side, the story goes like this:
Protagonist has [insert "lame" power], get kicked out from a guild/party (usually hero guild/party), turned out to be the best, becoming even better than his (or her, but it's kinda rare seeing a female protagonist being kicked out) guild/party member—even as far as creating his own guild/party with promising members on his side. The rest of the plot is not needed to be explained.

is it wishy washy? yes. But does it have to be involved with murder? not really (EDIT: but there are attempted murder). There's also this one Japanese web novel where the protagonist is "Jobless" and ends up exiled from his noble family because he brought dishonor to the name, or so his family thought.

all in all, these stories usually about against the rigid idea of discarding what people think of something being weak or useless, without realizing their hidden potential. I'm sure Japanese society can relate to their true, untapped potential without eternally bound to their rigid hierarchy. And that's why (EDIT: and how) this type of story is created.

Usually, it's one of those options:
A) protagonist is fired and leaves (becoming better than everyone)
B) they attempted to murder the protagonist (sometimes after firing him, just as you suggest, but not always) and he survives, leaves (becomes better than everyone)
C) they attempt to murder the protagonist, he survives and the rest of the story is his campaign of revenge

The option C is, I believe, the rarest of those. Most common is A.
