I mean, maybe I'm spoiled by options but there is a blind and mute tag, I wanna show off my deaf protag :((
I have actually written a deaf protag. It's no different from writing dialogue for a multi-lingual Protag. You could use a different language (If you yourself are multi-lingual), You could do the classic differing dialogue tags (I.e.: "Hey," She said in english before switching to Spanish, "How are you today?") Or you could just have them read lips and don't describe what they hear.i don’t know that many people write that. Depending on your pov you straight up can’t have dialog. Writing in sign language just doesn’t translate well to text
I should reconsider my decision to not post mine. I had 5 full chapters. I gave it up as my reason for writing it vanished. That said, it was still pretty good. She was a half gnome that was deaf due to a magical explosion that permanently damaged all working of the inner ear. She felt vibrations to "feel" sounds through her long ears. She still couldn't hear what the sound itself was, but she could feel the presence of the sound. She signed and wrote with and on whatever was available to communicate.I've seen at least one short story like that, but never anything longer (or it was a section in a longer work where one or more characters were temporarily deaf).
Though I suppose you could make a nice long story about a kid who is deaf, dumb and blind, but sure plays a mean pinball...
Is this really it..? there is the vocaloid tag, which has a single chapter story on hiatus. That, I must add, was made due because the tag was unused.not enough stories around to warrant it. i think Tony doesnt want to overflow the tag systems with barely used tags like NU suffers from.

With blind and deaf protagonisfs it's easier to write since they can still speak and hear.Come to think of it,i never came across any novel with deaf protagonist, maybe it hard to write or something.
