Why is romance sooo bad in isekai novels on this site.

Why is it when someone complains about romance in isekai, there is always someone who says, "go read some boys love or girls love".

Like, if the OP wanted to read something gay, would he be here complaining about the romance in the hetero isekai novels and his irritation with it?

There's almost always one of these people. And in SH specifically, that person is often Moonpearl.
Keep calm and read BL

What, you mean like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? Or The Wonderful Wizard of Oz? Alice's Adventures in Wonderland? Peter Pan? Howl's Moving Castle?

All of those (and many, many more) are actual book isekais. You're not even judging books by their covers, you're judging them by a single word that you don't seem to fully understand.
I was judging the OP's example. He read a bunch of generic Internet isekai Power Fantasies, inspired by Japanese anime, down to the slave harem and easy haremettes. There are a lot of them on this site.

Is Miyazaki on scribble hub? Is Peter Pan on scribblehub? Thats news to me. I suggested the MC branch out since he seems to read isekai stories on this site exclusively and had a bad opinion on them.

Howl's Moving Castle isn't by Hayao Miyazaki, fwiw. It's a 1986 novel by a British author, Diana Wynne Jones. Studio Ghibli's movie based on it came much later (2004).

Anyway, if your intent was the above, then your initial post did a godawful job of conveying it. It reads as saying that all isekai is internet power fantasy and that it doesn't exist in actual books.

There is no time to establish characters outside of MC, much less write a good romance. If u find a semi-good isekai with a high word-count then even if romance is not the main focus, just by the fact that characters had more time to interact with each other, romance will feel much more natural
You just explained the plot of my story. And only dedicated readers read it :) (I'd say about 40 folks)

hey hey @Zurai Xiaoshen's point was valid. The poster limits himself to reading online trash and wonders where the good stories are. Xiaoshen responded accordingly. Relax, we all know that Isekai takes place in classics and best sellers as well.

Well musokhu tensei was amazing.
Yugo senki did not have romance but was very very good.

Well basically I kind of want to read wish fulfilment without MC being really dumb

Many of the SH readers (and authors) come from NU, and many of the translated Japanese isekai stories there follow that same old appearing in a forest, saving some girl from goblins/bandits or rescuing a fox girl/cat girl slave formulas, and people do read and translate them (some even receive donations). It kinda gives a false illusion of popularity and thus the new writers try to follow the same formula, hoping that their story would also be well received.
...and there is also wish fulfillment, nothing can be done about that one.

You want fleshed out characters and relationships, grab an actual book and not just an internet power fantasy
You know 50 Shades started out as a web fapfic for women, dont you?. Your simplistic argument of 'read an actual book' gets borked there.

shitty romance isnt just an isekai thing (*cough*twilight*cough*) so if OP wants 'proper' romance according to their views, they'll need to dig long and hard anyway.

Actually, on second thought.... maybe shitty shoujo/josei romance might actually be right up OP's alley because what they think of as 'romance' on full, thorough reading sounds exactly like the typical dark, brooding emo edgewanker that tends to be the ML in those sorts of stories.

Clear path of development. And this is what I find isekai characters lack the most. They change little, if at all. And often they don't need to, because they are without flaws to begin with. The purpose of a story, in my humble opinion, is the MC learning from it's mistakes.

I tried making a flawed MC with my isekai and people just hate him as a result.

No one wants to read about angst starring a loser, they say.

You basically want what hauntedwritings is complaining about.
