Why do so many Mcs have weird relationships with their little sisters?

I am genuinely curious as to why this happens so much in anime, manga, and novels. Like why do some many Mcs get shy and start blushing with their (usually) little sister? Is the author trying to say something about themselves cause I don’t understand. And then some stories will be “their not blood related so its cool” like they didn’t grow up as siblings. I just don’t understand why so many authors do it, so can someone unlike me?

Having two sisters in real life I can tell you. No. It is not what it's presented as in fiction. Sometimes writing with a younger or older sibling (any gender actually) does permit some "catharsis" of what's going on IRL.
Like mine. One developed early onset Parkinson's and has all the expected psychological damage; another is trying to act like she's not part of a problem herself. So ... I write. Siblings. With issues.

Because those writers either don't have any siblings or hate their actual siblings so much they create fetishized siblings in their works.

Plus the already listed easy ecchi perks of always around and easy backstory due to same backstory as MC.

As is incest is just cheap and easy fetish fuel for those that don't know the hardships of having siblings.

How weird are we talking about here? 'Weird relationships between brother and sister' is far more diverse than most would expect at first. On one end we have playfully suggestive; I suspect most authors are just using whoever is nearby for fanservice, which frequently happens to be a sibling. And then there's 'I hide in the deepest caverns of the shadow realm from my little sister. She is a yandere god of destruction out to destroy all life that exists in the universe except for me who she wants instead to torture for all eternity'.

it's the catharsis that a sibling loves you SO MUCH she is willing to transcend familial bonds and literally get down and dirty with you. i can't empathize, but I can understand that feeling to a shallow degree.

though I can definitely attest to the fact that most people with incest fetishes are those who don't have siblings. as a little-sister haver, I dream to be a no-sister haver. I still love her, don't get me wrong, but that love is soon stretching thin from the number of times it held back my urge to drop-kick her to the sun.
