That's why having a female mc is superior. Can also make her gay so that you still get to make a bunch of heroines.

If you make the MC female it just means it takes a lot more time and effort to draw them. For novels, a female MC isn’t as big a deal, but for a manga or anime it can be quite annoying especially if you make them very detailed. Plus not everyone is going to like the design for the female MC and people are generally much pickier when it comes to appearances of female MCs. For male MCs, people aren’t nearly as picky about their appearance which is why they’re just easier in general and a safer option.

Honestly, if I’m watching an anime or reading a manga and the female MC doesn’t fit the bill, I lose interest. As for what the male MC looks like, I honestly couldn’t care less. They could replace a male MC with a potato and I’d still read or watch it. But if you give a male MC a grating on the ears voice in an anime I’m gonna rage quit no matter what.
