Why aren't there more female protagonists who are mothers in dark fantasy?

I was looking for a dark fantasy novel with a protagonist who is a strong and gentle mother who cares for her children. Because I wanted to see the warmth of a family can continue to burn even though the world is broken. But I didn't find anything except a few. Finally, I decided to write my own novel.

I wrote one, but didn't get much reader traction. Wrote one story about a boy forcefemmed by his mom and the reader engagement skyrocketed. So that's your answer there.

Also, this comes from a place of genuine well-wishes, I would love to see more representation So I am cheering for your story.

Jadi saya mendukung cerita Anda.
Thanks your attention

Well... most dark fantasy readers are guys. So its more like to find a male point of view in that particular section. Other sections are more male then female also, like LIT RPG novels, and Isekai novels. But its also true that most book buyers and readers females outnumber the males quite a bit. And lately there's been a trend where people are starting to like stories that have a strong female lead.

So it is possible that someone could come out with something like this.

However, its also true that when a guy reads a female point of view book it won't fit right if its got romance and a family in it. So this is part of why are reading this. It has to do with the idea that, OK if I'm attracted to females, I would probably read a book with a main character attracted to females also. And the same for the other way around.

But I do like the idea of a family story. I'm trying to make some of my stories more family friendly in some ways. But I don't have very many female lead stories.
