What is "cute"? In the words of a random guy on the Internet:
When a 14 year old boy says that a 14 year old classmate is “cute,” what does he mean? He means that she has superficial qualities that make her attractive to him. He hasn’t peered deep into her soul and learned something profound about love and the human condition. His appreciation for her is shallow, but it is appreciation none-the-less.
It’s a shallow compliment. It means that there is something that is superficially attractive.

To me, "cute" online is simply a quality of personality or speech that makes me squee. Don't be so grumpy!
