I like both english and japanese music but not really K-Pop, mostly cuz I understand english and japanese but not korean.

English music is diverse as f*ck so about 50% of my playlists consist of english songs. The other half is a mixture of spanish, chinese and japanese songs/OSTs.

As for K-Pop, the industry reeks of sketchy stuff that gets darker and darker. The fandom is... well, it is what it is.

I can like specific songs but I don´t actively look for K-Pop. Every industry has its downsides but this one is simply too distasteful for me.

Obligatory song recommendation:

The Kpop industry has its downsides.

From what I get, these downsides seem to stem from their agencies and fans.

From agencies taking control of their personal lives.

From psychotic fans taking extreme measures just to get closer to a single star.

Oh Yeah, the Kpop Stans are also fucking psychotic. It's like a stalker and a fan mixed up. They act dumb and chaotic on Twitter. (But some of them are still respectable and seem to hop on the fun. )

That is all the bad things I have to say.

As for the good things

Not all fans are horny sheep.

They somewhat spread the good message even though I don't understand either a thing. (Like Spring Day and such)

Hey, some songs are kind of good actually.

I like Kpop. Helps with staying motivated on workouts. Just like their vibes.

One thing I've noticed recently is the increased amount of cross-collaboration between music producers/writers for both Kpop and English music (and I'm not referring to the vocalists -- that too I guess). Many writers produce a catchy set of 4-16 bars and then send them to their friends to add to them. I.e. August Rigo, MAX, etc.

Speaking of, here's an English song that sounds like a Kpop song:

I prefer kpop most because in my opinion kpop songs contain more powerful and impressive videos..and there dance moves are so empresses or cuit some time .but there one problem that the most of peoples not understand Korean language so they have to look for eng subtitle. And now if we talk about English songs that are also so great to hear and there videos also good most of peoples prefer english songs because most of peoples know eng language but in my opinion the kpop songs are most adorable thus bts (bts hoodies for girls) is my favorite one I love all songs of them and there dance moves o god. I want to learn all that dance steps.

Please stop soliciting for merch. :blob_neutral:
I love kpop, but such behavior makes all kpop fans look like aggressive fanatics.

I find English songs more appealing. I could understand and find some meaning within the song so I could somehow relate or know what the singer/songwriter wanted to convey within those lyrics.

I've been trying to learn the Japanese language for some time now but my progress is very slow(probably due to the fact that the language is just so damn hard to learn. Trying to read, write, and speak the language is hard atm for me). So I can kind of understand Japanese songs and find meaning within the lyrics.

As for Kpop? I couldn't care less about it. It sounds so repetative and shallow to me. That's in my opinion, anyway. My sisters likes Kpop and always play those kinds of songs so I can somehow understand why it's so popular. The upbeat tones and things are pretty great. However, I know nothing about Korean language so it's kinda hard to appreciate the songs in my own way.
