Hi everyone! Title is self explainatory but still, what was that spark of imagination that brought you there? For me, it was being bored of repetitive isekais and suddenly watching a football reel and go ? we can work on this. Still in development, but sky is the limit (and it's coming soon).

For With my Last Heartbeat though, it was literally going out for the first time in pandemics, to ride my bike in the park. After losing practice for a while, I performed a sharp turn and almost hit a girl. We said sorry to each other and continued our paths. But the thought of what would have happened if we kept talking stayed that day... so here we are ?

i was reading one of those "All the women in my life did some fuckery to me and now they want me back but its too late" stories. You know the type. And it was pretty ass. I thought, "dang i love the concept but this author cant write for shit." like, the execution was just poor.

"I could do this way better" I thought. And here we are. So my inspiration, as always, is arrogance and spite. But is it really arrogance when its true?

I have several projects on the go...
Interstellar Sentinel/Guide -> cos I like interstellar, and I like sentinel/guide stuff, and there isn't enough of it to sate my thirst
Tower/dungeon -> I like the genre and had the urge to have a go, I guess [The Legendary Mechanic] and [The World Turned into a Game After I Woke Up] were the biggest inspirations...along with [Second Life Ranker] and [Levelling up with the Gods]
Slice of Life BL -> I had the urge to write about a bisexual man who likes to wear lingerie. I think I'd seen some pics of buff anime guys in lingerie and it looked really nice
Noble fantasy romance -> I like the genre of noble fantasy, and I had the itch to write some that felt less dramatic than those villainess novels, etc...

I wanted to get used to consistently writing. I have been trying to tell stories for years now, but, outside of short stories, I have yet to even come close to finishing an arc before dropping said story due to writers block. As for what the story is based on, the setting is that of an early modern horror mystery. I am structuring it similar to how I assume Dracula was, although I have never read it, and the magic system is based off a system I have been working on for six years now.

Hehe, my entire story is actually the result of a very long purely text 1v1 ERP I did where it was me vs DM. It was unfinished though, so I'm finishing and rewriting it myself without the smut. One day I hope he posts his own stories on Scribble. I'm trying to persuade him to come to Scribble.

I can see how an overcrowding of one genre would inspire/piss off people enough to make things more unique, and I'm glad you did. I took a peek at your story so far, and it looks like something I will add to my reading list.

As for the Q/A, my inspirations for Overlap are of the most pure ~ a story based on events that happened to me, my very own life laid out chapter by chapter, at least the most interesting and soul-making moments. The final chapter which drops very soon will reveal as much. As they say in that same chapter, it's 99.999% doubtful anyone would believe it...

That's a difficult question. Considering my main project is a list of anthologies that form into a coherent story, I don't know any other novel that does something similar. Though, I'd say the Stormlight Archive is my main inspiration as to how I design the world, but only very slightly. And when I say slightly, I mean there's like one similarity. Most of everything in my current project is something I've wholly thought up of.

I wrote different genres but romance surprisingly gained an audience. I think I can write romance well because it's something I've wanted and imagined for the longest. Sure, the adventures I can cook up are fun and the world building is imaginative, but one thing I have a troubled history with IRL is romance. As it turns out, not having the best experience with romance or relationships helped me come up with good stories around them.

My current novel was inspired by a lot of ideas culminating into one. My idea for a romance novel between an introvert and an extrovert. The ambition of telling the first chapter to an overarching storyline in future books. The world building, the desire to escape into a fantasy adventure with potentially limitless possibilities. And my fondness for Monster Girls, not enough online stories take them seriously as most keep them as erotic or smut stories and leave it at that. I want to write something more serious, more character driven, where the characters feel real and make mistakes.
