It's a question I thought of after rewatching the Incredibles and later when I imagined what the MC's parents had to go through when raising them. So, overall what power do you think would make a baby an absolute nightmare to babysit.

Telekinesis- bad because babies want everything so having dangerous things flying at them probably isn't safe.

Fire- they will set themselves and everything else within crawling distance on fire. If they are immune to fire, good. If they are in a house and it burns down, bad.

Super Strength- they will kill the parents in their sleep without realizing it.

Electricity- if this goes as far as bioelectricity then they would kill themselves very quickly.

Necromancy-just keep them away from cemeteries/hospitals and near a greenhouse or something with dead plants. This is only really bad if it has any of the other powers with it.

Sooo, yeah. Necromancy would be best option but any of these would be a near or instant death sentence.

What Paul said.

Telekinesis could also extend to themselves, as in the baby could just yeet themselves out of their crib and onto a ceiling fan or out the window.

Just see Koichi in MHA Vigilantes.

Necromancy is considerably tame, unless they can attract the dead. Then it becomes another problem.

Are they any active counters/ power dampers such as the mutant inhibitor collar or anti ESP system?

I can't imagine how many furniture baby superman broke :blob_shock:
You meant Heracles.

Because Clark's super powers didn't come out until he's a teen.

Solar ray absorption took time.

Whereas the son of Zeus straight up killed two snakes at birth.

It depends heavily on the limits and strengths of the powers. But I'll pick super strength and say that telekinesis could be stronger.

In 80% of fiction pieces I saw, elemental users are immune to their elements. Necromancer can't be attacked by the summoned. So I have to choose telekinesis cus Paul give a good idea about forks and knives

The first thing that popped into my head is a necromancer baby who is getting baptized in a church, freaks out because it was dunked in water, then accidentally raises all the dead bodies in the crypts.

Bam!

Zombie outbreak.

Worse? Maybe they're not even aggressive undead, maybe they just hang around and act all childlike and just completely unsettle the hell out of everyone involved

Telekinesis and necromancy take actual thought to be particularly dangerous, so they wouldn't be too bad... for a child under 2 years old. Telekinesis in particular would be horrible with 2 and 3-year olds.

Super strength could cause a fair amount of damage, but the limiting factor is that it would still scale with both size and strength. A baby 10x stronger than normal still isn't very frightening, since that still leaves them weaker than an adult, and with barely any reach, the chaos would be limited.

Fire and Electricity would easily be the worst. Even at low output, they could start an uncontrollable blaze; they prevent you from picking the child up; and to top it all off, they don't take much thought to use.

Some others:
Invisibility, speed, and flight would be annoying, but it is just a matter of setting up barriers first. It doesn't matter where they go if the can't reach anything dangerous.
Phasing through walls would be particularly troublesome, since you couldn't rely on barriers to stop them; you would need to monitor them constantly.
Teleportation would be much the same, though once again the need for actual thought would likely limit it to line-of-sight, taking the edge off of it.

Multiple powers:
Phasing through walls + invisibility + speed
You can't contain them, you can't track them, and even if you find them, you can't catch them!

I'm too traumatized by having a normal child to consider this question.
Seconded. A baby's super power is being quiet because that's when you know something has happened.

Also, I immediately went back to this image:

Probably some sort of super sonic mega wail whenever they cry. Or Acidic spit up that melts everything. Super strength would be my choice on the poll though, imagine a baby gripping your finger all cute and stuff, and then he doesn't stop applying the pressure till your finger snaps lol

Depends on when the power activates. I'd say Super Strength though. A lot of the other powers like fire and stuff, in my head at least, have to be activated, and yeah it's true the baby could accidentally spit up fire or something, but super strength is just being ridiculously strong. You have to choose to hold back with that and a baby isn't going to know how to do that.

Assuming the parents aren't supers I also imagine it could be quite horrorfic to have a flailing child with Godlike strength, who has just been born. It'd only get worse as the child grew and got more curious and reached the grabby stage most baby's go into.
