Like the Title and Poll says.

Only 2 votes allowed since I don't want anyone simply putting all three thereby defeating the purpose of the poll.

>Wuxia.
>Isekai.

What a joke. This is not even debatable. LitRPG sells.

I'd personally say Isekai with LitRPG being a close second. Lately though, I've seen a major spike in new Cultivation novels on numerous sites. I'm thinking their might be a change in trend coming on soon. Maybe anyways.

The trend is always LitRPG I guess, because other than in games, who doesn't want to see the numbers go up!

And then there is IsekaixLitRPG.

As for Xianxia, I always read it with a lot of cringe.

Kinda surprised the cultivation choice only has 1. So many people like that style and even defend it when people criticize it. I don't expect it to get the highest but I definitely expected more than 1 vote.

Litrpg followed by isekai. I've seen litrpg in cultivation, isekai, as well as fantasy, sci-fi, and post apocalyptic stories.

Nani the fuck?! Isekai has now overtake LitRPG.
Isekai has been in the lead the entire time actually. The closest it got was Isekai =5 and LitRPG = 3. I'm still surprised Cultivation novels only have 1 though XDDD I'm all for insulting Chinese fiction because to me Chinese is the bottom feeder of the main 3 (Korean, Japanese, Chinese) but man it's gotten only one vote....I knew it would lose but not this badly...

Maybe cuz the cultivation shit gets way too old and that it is lore heavy. As in, you need to be willingly wasting your time to understand some stupid deities and stuff. Fun fact, some authors would get their mythology wrong and shove the gods from one group to another. Second, the deities in the chinese mythos are seriously less well known that their western counterparts, it further doesn't help when China going through the "cultural revolution" aka burning books and repressing their own cultures.

I know quite a large number of Chinese Deities, but the very first ones I ever learned of was Guan Yin, Goddess of Mercy and Guan Yu the Saint of War who is also considered a Guardian Deity to the entire Sichuan Province.

Then there are the bunch of buddhas, the celestial court which I have no idea of, Chang'e, the cold bitch who stole and pop a pill and get yeeted to the moon, and Hou Yi, who shot down nine suns after ten of them popped up to burn the world and boil the oceans. Pangu who created the world by cleaving shit with his axe and have his body turned into the terrains of Earth, to hell with his eye balls becoming Sun and Moon (which made absolutely no sense for later lores) and Nuwa for "fixing the sky" after a sky tortoise can no longer support the sky. SUN WUKONG!!!! That weird dude with a third eye at his forehead, Neza with his flaming rollerblades, pig dude, monk, and a weird water monk???

Ps. Sick, Cultivation with 2 votes.

Hou Yi, Nuwa, and Nezha, Pangu, and Sun Wukong aren't really obscure though.

I also hated the story of Sun Wukong. The Celestial Court basically looked down on him and treated him crap, so he got angry and kicked their asses. So they bitch and whined about it, (which to me they deserved it), and called Buddha, who punished Sun Wukong for more or less sticking up for himself and getting revenge, while Buddha did absolutely nothing to the Celestial Court bastards for causing the whole mess.

Main reason I call people who consider Buddha all-good to be naive imbeciles. I don't believe in anything being all-good because every "good" deity always has a story/lore/legend of them acting corrupted or biased in some manner at some point. And don't even get me started on Christians and their bullshit....

The christian God did some absolutely disgusting shit for the most petty of reasons. And even Jesus, who I'l admit, was a MAJOR improvement, had some less than admirable moments. But holy shit if you say it openly... XDD

Thats why I'm a Pagan. At least pagan deities are out in the open about their goodness and wickedness... the Abrahimic beliefs started that whole "all-loving" crap and I wish they'd stop it.

I mean, who tf wants to be put into a bad light?

Also, if Sun Wukong gets away scotfree, during the time of publication, the govt that time would murder the fuck out of the author for inciting rebellion. Iirc the first chinese chess, two guys got executed for "murdering the king". So they had to change the king piece to general, talk about having a small weiner.
