I also prefer to have my documents local
You will quickly change that stance once your drive dies, or data gets corrupted, and you lose access to it.
Local copy is important and easy to use, yes. But you need to have some sort of backup on another machine/device, preferably outside your area of residence.
And gDocs + gDrive is free with more than enough space for this exact use.
Also, I would suggest switching from Dropbox to Mega. Mostly cause Mega has version management, so you can restore older versions of stored files if needed. Or easily recover accidentally deleted files.

That’s true. I keep a copy on my laptop, my PC, and the thumb drive that moves between the two. And if I lose it, I lose it. Look upon my works ye mighty etc., etc. I’ll consider switching to Mega. Thanks for the tip!

Libre office is my writing app, which I also use to take notes.

My chapters are immediately saved via RR, SH, Patreon, and Discord; RR and SH being thanks to the draft saving/schedule functions.
My 'official' notes (which includes some behind the scenes tracking of abilities) get uploaded to Patreon and Discord when certain sections are complete.
My other notes (which includes things that I want to do and things about future editing, etc) I save via a private channel in my Discord. Hmm. I should probably email those to myself as well, just to be sure.

Google docs. Mainly because I like to write on my phone using a wireless keyboard with a phone doc and like writing for a mental break at work. Plus, Microsoft Word in terms of its mobile app is just BAD. No really, the UI and navigation is abysmal compared to the mobile app for Google Docs. I do save .docx copies on my computer of completed/discarded works (the latter is more prevalent) to serve as a stored record (and to also cringe at how bad my writing was back then).

I use Google docs to write bc I like the cross-platform use the best.

What I need is a good typesetting app for print bc reedsy free app is just worthless
