In fantasy, whenever there is some kind of alien being - such as a dragon or a demon or what not, they usually have some humanization ability. Same goes for sentient objects and their spirits. Especially when it concerns nonhuman protagonists.
Another thing here is that humans often are considered to be aesthetically pleasing - or at least human-like beings, as well as the aesthetic senses of humans are way too common among creatures that have no place having such senses.
It is usually all fine and dandy because the readers are expected to be human - naturally - and thus this little bit of suspension of can be allowed - just the same as humans from different planets not looking like they came from "All tommorows".
However! I want to read a story where it is weird for nonhuman and nonhumanoid beings to share in the aesthetic senses, much less take on the appearances of this particular species of higher primates.
What I want are recurring nonhuman and nonhumanoid characters who play a large role in the plot within a setting where humans are just some species of primates from some middle-sized planet on the outskirts of the galaxy and where other species feel the same towards us as we would towards bipedal lizardmen.
Can be sci-fi, can be fantasy or whatever.

One story that comes to my mind is Vigor Mortis by Thundamoo (it's on RR, don't have a link at the moment), but it's focus in on slightly different things and the actual different species truly come into light after a hundred-something chapters.

Actually, other stories from the same author also fit the requirements to smaller or lesser degree.

Apart from that there was that one popular old story where humans were enslaved by a race of aliens and kept as pets, which arguably fits your description perfectly, but I don't remember the title at the moment.

So, you want one of those stories where humans are made super dumb and the other non human character have inflated artificial intelligence that really doesn't check out?

Let me propose a better solution, make humans better, buff them to high heaven where they are so powerful that other creatures wish to look like them

There might be an appeal of reading other species having human-like characteristics while the actual humans are apes but after reading so many shitty CN novels where humanity is the underdog against the oppressive forces of "other races" (shit is so thinly veiled, man) that I cannot shift my liking to watching humans getting the low IQ treatment while other races, be they dragons or angels, rule.

*PS, sorry for popping in with a rant instead of a recommendation.

I tend to just think of them as the zoophiliacs.

Wrong. The quest is for people who think humans are ugly and gross, not dumb or weak. They can be super powered geniuses, but that doesn't mean anyone has to think they're swoon inducing levels of attractive.

Unfortunately, the only thing I can think of is 'Elves are super beautiful (humans) who look down on humans for being ugly', but that's still the human aesthetic... They're just better at it than humans~.
