When publishing a new series, is it better to post 3-5 chapters at once so it attracts more readers? Even though the regular schedule is to be 2 chapters/week or something similar? Gotta capitalize on that five hours of main page screentime, right? Having 3-5 chapters when people start the series will also give more opportunities to hook them into the story instead of just one chapter. But I might be wrong.

(Also, second question, will posting multiple chapters at once on a new series make it shadowbanned from latest updates like other stories? Will it also be shadowbanned from the 'latest series' list as well?)

I usually end up writing something like 8 chapters before publishing and do one a day for the first week before slowing down.

I'd say just post 1 chapter every day following the first release, then move to a regular schedule. its more optimized that way

I do with 5 chapters. Usually, in my chapter length and writing style, that's a lot of events already.

I start with a minimum of 5 chapters. You are good to post them right after each other; you won't get flagged as spam, as your book has to be reviewed before it is up on the site anyway. But after your story is approved, if you post multiple chapters, space them out, leaving at least an hour between chapters. That way, you won't be flagged as spam, and you will still show up on the front page among the newest chapters.

depends where your hook is. first chapters are introductory. if stuff start happening in chapter 3, start with 3 chapters. if it starts with chp2, start with chpt2.

Wait for story to be approved and appear on latest series. Don't upload any chapters until you fall off latest series.

Once u fall off latest series (usually a day or less), then upload once a day, or two a day if u want. Dwell time on latest series depends on timing that you upload - I find that 0000 GMT to 0900 GMT has the best dwell time, usually with fictions staying on front page up to 2 hours or even more.

You can try alternating chapter releases, so one day you go for maximum dwell, the other day you go for peak chapter release.

Of course, all of these pales in comparison to Trending, which is quite randomized. You can not do any of the above and still have visibility through randomly getting trending.

One thing good about waiting to drop off latest series is that you can gauge how well your title, cover and blurb works. Your measure of success may vary, but 20 readers on first day is usually quite a good start barring no external shoutouts.

I'd suggest even more chapters, maybe around 10 or 15.
I tend to avoid novels with very few chapters as there's not much to read anyways and if the author continues it'll pop up again later, which is convenient for me of course, but means there's not much latest series exposure to capitalize on from people like me.

5 chapters, but with a small gap in between of 2-4 hours.

The story won't appear on latest updates for a short time, but it's not permanent. Being on Latest Series completely overwhelms any losses due to not appearing on Latest Updates. Just make sure you have a good title, a good cover, and a good synopsis. Accurate tags and genres is important as well, but most people barely look at them.

Well I was a good time to post until you Told the world about it. ?
I mean you can post whatever you want and just hope that readers find your work and like it.
But if you want optimal viewership post at least once a day if you can. Or have a study schedule posting on what days you want.

After several launches i now post 5 chapters in one day (3-4 hours apart), then a chapter a day for the rest of the week, then regular posting schedule after that. So 8-10 real fast, then business as usual.

I agree. You want people to have something thing can sink their teeth into.

One prologue chapter with introductory info that were relevant for the whole story.

First chapter is the important surface impression of MC, the characters, and the world itself.

Put more in-depth world building for the next chapters as the days and time goes on.

Only post maximum 1 chapter in a day, and wait for next day to post more to maximize the [chapter/week] number of the story stat.
