I was curious to know what everyone's thoughts were on this.
Personally, I don't like it happening, but it's also not like a story running thing for me.

I’ve sorta used it myself, so I’m biased, but it’s probably fine as long as you take it seriously. Even the part where she will eventually become an ally will need to be carefully handled.

The lady in question in my story will need to go through quite a character arc and make some serious concessions to get into my MCs good graces. She’s got a whole mess of psychological issues and I’m trying to lay a lot of groundwork but I expect it’ll still be controversial. More than one reader has directly wished for her death and I didn’t even show the worst parts onscreen.

As for doing it to act out a fetish? Even that is “fine” but it’ll piss off a lot of people and if it comes out of nowhere that can be an absolute shot to the heart of your readership.

I like to think that (in terms of subject matter) there is no such thing as bad writing, but there is sure as hell such a thing as niche writing, and niche writing requires a degree of sign posting and an acceptance that you’re narrowing your demographic.

I dislike that... It's like you're blaming the victims (women) or making them the perpetrators. In the real world, the statistics for men abusing women are higher than the reverse. We need to focus on cases of violence against women without turning a blind eye to the opposite (women hurting men). I'm not talking nonsense. If you have the time, please do some research on the prevalence of male violence against women. After all, violence is never justifiable, and fiction should be a beacon of moral education, not exploiting trauma.

Unless the story is softcore porn (I very, very rarely read hardcore porn and this would PROBABLY make me drop the story right there) and there's a narrative reason for it (e. g. she gains power through forcing men's submission or some such), I would probably stop reading unless I really liked both of the characters and the writing, and really wanted to see the MC get back at her somehow eventually (though if she falls in love with him, that's just a bit too cheesy).

This just sounds like the infamous scene from Invincible.

... if you know, you know >.>

Would definitely depend on how it's handled. I'm not really squeamish about uncomfortable or sensitive topics in my stories, but they can definitely leave a terrible taste in my reading mouth if they're handled poorly :sweating_profusely:

Sexual assault is sexual assault, regardless of gender, so I'd want it to be treated seriously as such :blob_hmm:

Rape is rape no matter how they look. If they don't take it too far and just ends at aggressive flirting, it could go on the comic route. Otherwise it will always be uncomfortable to read. Which is exactly why put that kind of scene in my "horror" book. It is supposed to be horrifying not kinky.

IRL, It's bad moral-wise. It always had been, it always will be.

That being said:
At the same time, story-wise, let's be real, man or woman, if they forced themselves onto another, man or woman, it'd be bad, it'd be evil. BUT they ARE the Enemy. They ARE the villain.. They ARE evil. What we think as moral, or wrong, or evil, does not apply to their way of doing things. A villain will do- guess what- villainous things. They don't care. Murder, pillaging r*pe, or destruction. Evil is evil. They might understand it's bad, but, ultimately, they DON'T care, or have a stupid reason to, or some background nonsense that made them like this, whatever, it's a normal Tuesday for them, man or woman. Evil will be evil.

IF!! IF the HERO did this, man or woman? THAT would be truly evil, because they know, and understand, and are definitively choosing this route of action. They would be, in my opinion, worse than the villain.

Both aren't good paths forward, and both are equally bad, and its evil. -but I also think that's the point when being written into a fictional story. It's meant to be EVIL.
