Lighter stuff, mostly, but stories get bonus points if they can seamlessly throw in some darker stuff without breaking immersion. Also darker stuff that doesn't take itself too serious.

Grimdark edge stories full of (forced) drama are a good way to get me away from a story.

I can enjoy light or dark stories, it depends on my mood.
Just make sure it's well done.

It's about realism (no, not realism as in 'like nihilistic views on real life', actual realism). If I can't believe your world or story would be as lighthearted in tone as it presents itself, I have a problem with it.

Conversely, if I can't believe your world or story would be as dark as it presents itself, I have a problem.

Basically, as long as the tone matches the most logical way the setting and plot would play out, it doesn't matter what that tone is.
